back over my shoulder, I sent Oaklee a saucy wink. Two weeks ago, she became my wife in a double ceremony with Gabe and Devon. Oaklee and the Flock threw themselves into organising my captain’s wedding to his pixie, creating the perfect day. The only surprise was I had a plan of my own.

Oaklee and I discussed how we saw our wedding going after I put a ring on her finger the same night I found her at the strip club.

Yeah, not going there.

Anyway, we both agreed that we didn’t want any hoopla, she didn’t want the big dress that would make her the centre of attention, and I didn’t want to endure a tux. So I came up with a brilliant idea of using the ceremony and the celebrant to marry Oaklee on the same day. No invites needed to go out, my family and everyone important to us would already be there. I ran my idea past Gabe and he readily agreed. So all the planning needed was a marriage licence and it was good to go.

That day, dressed in my fatigues because Gabe knew none of the team would agree to our dress uniform, I waited until Tank and Devon said their vows, stepped up to the altar and called for my Temptress to join me.

Never will I forget the look on her face when I explained it was our turn to exchange vows, nor will I likely ever forget the scowl on my mum’s face or those of her Flock when they realised I had out-flocked them with my plan.

I was all about protecting my girl, and that included from the stresses of a wedding.

Oaklee’s grandparents appeared from the compound’s main room, where I had them hiding from their granddaughter until it was our turn. Oaklee would never agree to marry me without her beloved grandparents to witness it.

Now here I was, married, in love, and fucking happy as a pig in shit. Not even a deployment two weeks after tying myself to Oaklee could extinguish the light in my heart.

“Catch ya soon, Temptress,” I yelled out, tossing my duffel into the back of the Jeep.

“Looking forward to it, Rambo,” she shouted back, wiggling her hand at me, her engagement and wedding bands catching the sunlight, sparkling brightly.

Last night we already said our goodbyes, Oaklee cried a little, but I wasn’t worried.

Her strength would see her through the time apart from me. I had no doubts about that.

Blowing her a kiss, I went to duck my head when my old man came up from behind the vehicle.

Standing there, my father held out his hand to me, his smile lighting up his face when he caught sight of my wedding band.

“She will be fine, son, I won’t let anything happen to her.”

“I know, Dad, I trust you.”

“Fucking proud of you, Cole, you know that, right?”

“Yeah, Dad, I know,” I assured him, knowing he still felt ashamed of himself for his actions concerning Oaklee, but there was no need for it anymore.

“And you know that I am a better shot than you, right?” I drawled, getting the exact reaction intended from my dad.

“In your dreams, boy,” he muttered, releasing my hand and walking off muttering curses.

Laughing outright, I gave Oaklee one last longing glance, committing this moment to memory for the long weeks ahead of me.

My last and final deployment in the Australian Army and one part of the second-best fucking commando teams in history.

Team FIVE had some significant changes on the way.

But that is a story for another time.

THE END

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

It is good to be back in the Sons world, hanging out with Creed’s boy. I have to say, I really enjoyed writing this book. Of course, I love all my men, but this book … felt different—what happened to Deke, what is going on with Kodah… Team FIVE is going through a rough patch, that is for damn sure.

During this book, I had a lot of highs and lows, knowing that the end is near for the series. These guys have been a big part of my life for a year, and I have to say I love each and every one of them like a fat kid loves cake.

A big line of thanks is coming, so bear with me.

My PA and biggest supporter, Belinda, aka Pirate. They say behind the scenes is always a hard-working person–well Belinda is my person. I write, and she does everything else; we just have to figure out how she can get me out of bed in the mornings and make me breakfast from two states away, and then we are golden.

Kage, Lee Anna, Zoe, Marree, Iona the ladies who make sure I am part of the human race and there is life beyond the laptop.

My amazing Flock. There is no author with a better group than me xo.

Louis, for being Cole for me. You were Creed so I thought it fitting we kept it in the family. You are the sweetest hunk of muscles.

My sweet grandbabies, and my daughters. Love you all, always xo.

Handsome, you are without a doubt my closest friend. You make sure I laugh, and giggle and snort. There simply aren’t enough words, Bandit. 10-4 good buddy.

Love always, Leah xoxo

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Leah Sharelle loves the idea of being in love. Since her early teens, when she first discovered Silhouette Desire novels, her life has been all about reading. She would find herself rewriting scenes if she wasn’t happy with them and then would hide them under her bed. That led her to writing love stories of her own. They all ended
