Your Love

Not here, not there,
Not anywhere in sight,
So much aware
Of what I'm not,
Yet so unsure of what I am;
A shadow
Traveling between
And underneath these worlds of light.

With you unfailingly,
And still... not yours,
Not even mine;
I am the breath
Thorn from your lips,
Forever here, already gone;
A restless wave
So lonely beating on your shores.

From what I'm not
I try to be.
Take form and shape
For you to hold,
Lost in your eyes
I feel the love, and I become
Myself again.
I simply am because you love me.
