Can I win the battle
When I don’t want to start a war
Can I fight tonight
But not forever more
How do you pick your battles
In a war that has no end
How can you win a fight
That you did not wish to begin
Why do we fight a battle
That we did not start
Why must we fight for others
When we don’t own their heart
When do we choose to stand
If we know we have to fall
When do we decide to answer
Loves unending call
Where do we go to tell
Those we trust of love
What chance do we have
To tell the one we love?
Fighting with myself
I never really saw
Now I’m finding hope
When I hear you call
Seeing all around us
The past and future and now
And knowing we are better off
Than we were before
Take my hand
I know your pain
We can find ourselves again
Out on the road
You’ve given me this chance
And now I want you to know
That I can keep you safe
And be the one you need
We can save each other
From that pain
That we both have born
We can heal the scars
Give way to new life
And let the old us die
Become who we were meant to be
And even let us fly
Hand in hand we’ll go
From one road to the next
Fate has been kind enough to show
A chance for the perfect pair
By what human right
do we judge
the actions of others
to what end or foul demise
that they themselves have built.
We must not dwell
on the choices of others,
for each of us
have our own lives to live
and our own ends to reach.
In the deep corners of the mind
we hide the truth from ourselves,
knowing in our subconscious
it will only hasten our demise,
but it is still from truth we hide.
In our last
desperate struggle to survive,
we act on instinct and leave behind
a piece of ourselves
too true to hide.
Desperately we fight
deaths unwavering pull
until our lives turn to night
and we become our soul,
to enter the realm of dark or light.
The truth is:
there is an end for us all
and at our end only others
witness our fall.
The battle of life, a loss shared by all.
Where has the time gone
One day we’re kids,
Playing in the sand on the beach
The next we are adults,
Trying to keep the sand in the hour glass
Where has our life gone
When who we are is a fragment
Of our ever darkening imagination
When we can’t even remember
The child we were, playing in the schoolyard
What have we become
When we judge time by the dollar earned
Not by the amount of breaths we were able to take in it
When we judge life by the amount of air we breathe
Instead of those amazing moments that took our breath away
How can we live
When our lives become an empty shell
That not even a hermit crab would want to make a home in
When we have no knowledge
Of where to go from the rut we’ve we’ve put ourselves in
What is life
But a passing moment
A fleeting breath
A ripple in the pool of time
And a whisper in the universe
Varying shades of grey
caused by the worlds black and white
overcoming the day
to make you break in spite
of all your efforts to make it your way
shading the night
till it just makes you numb
we’re fighting a losing fight
and we knew it all along
and now we complain, ITS NOT ALRIGHT
the shades are coming like fog
to cover the earth in its grasp
the day has been thrown to the dogs
we failing our task
and our various failures we log
building onto the numbing pain
adding up the cost
when you think there’s nothing left to gain
and all is lost
and the grey skies pour on the rain
black moves through the night
and white on into the day
while you struggle through the fight
its to the grey that i will stay
and so in the twilight i stay out of sight.
I got one dream
to see this out
I got one wish
to scream and shout
I got one chance
to get this right
So come with me
let’s go tonight.
This world tries
to past us by
We must stand
for what is right
Stand up for
us, one another
Make them see
we’re all brothers
The world is scarred
ripped and torn
its burning itself
and not one of us
seems to care
So lets go
and find a sense
of what’s right
We got one chance
to see this through
we got one time
to make our rule
take my hand
I’ll make it right
come with me
we’re gone tonight
In the dark
lost my mind
hidden from you
lost my chance
out of time
I ran to you
you were not there
you did not care
you left me alone
in this world
I could not count
on anyone
raining down
the memories
oppress me
in the end
I fall again
just to prove you right
silver-screen
ending to
all we held on to
all this pain
I'm left with
only proves one thing
I was a fool
to count on you
now I know better
it is too late
I hope you suffocate
my life’s been better
I will not lie
I got fucking high
to ease the pain you made
I will never wish
for one more kiss
I am over you
Breaking down
such a lonesome sound
I am alone
I found a way
that will make you pay
I got over you
My strength or weakness
I do not yet know
this gift I carry with me
wherever I go
my rate of failure
in the past
was killing
