When the time comes, the days grow shorter
and the nights colder.
Winter is here.
In its own way, it is very special.
When night comes, life seems to spring from it's very existence.
Spreading....
At times the winds howl telling everything that they have come to wreak havoc on them.
Trees whip at a frenzied pace, crying out at the night sky challenging the elements that caused these turn of events.
Not understanding...
The ground itself doesn't seem to mind what's happening, it's as if it had witnessed these things before.
Not really caring...
The winds continue to shriek and howl, bellowing its defiance.
Nor really caring about what happens next.
Then it stops.
The trees are confused at what just occurred, puzzled by the swift and powerful silence that permeates the bare landscape.
The ground seems to be pleased that all the fighting has finally been stopped.
But it wonders what's going to happen next.
The temperature starts to fall.
Winter, in all its powerful glory, has finally arrived.
The sky opens up and cold white flakes starts to fall gently.
The buildings that were built there hunker in the growing darkness as light starts to fade, trying to keep warm from the impending cold.
The ground itself realizes what's happening and is soon covered in a soft blanket of white.
It does not answer...
The trees are also subjected without mercy to this new process for hours on end, not really saying much in their defense, as if this event was death to them.
Then the wind finally starts it's banshee howling once more into the night.
And it continued to snow.
