One Shot
By: Victoria Blackwood

One Shot, that’s all it took. One shot, he was gone.

I’d never hear him laugh, I’d never see him smile.

The boy who loved the sun, while I worshiped the moon.

Now I hate them both, it’s not even noon.

The clock stands ticking in the hospital room.

Taking away our time, the love that can’t be mine.

I see the line go straight on the heart monitor, I call

his name,

His brain can’t register.

I want to scream, I want to shout,

Because of that One Shot, my time has run out

Right Here
By: Victoria Blackwood

I looked up from my window and saw him standing there. I ran up to him, unwilling to believe he was really here.

“I thought you’d never come back” I whispered, gripping onto his leather jacket, the smell of the leather laced with wood smoke filled my nose.

“I’m Right Here.” He answered, running his fingers through my hair. His voice was warm and comforting, like a blanket on a cold day.

“I’m Right Here to, I was waiting for you.” He smiled at me and hugged me,

“I only came back for you,”

Not Forever
By: Victoria Blackwood

He told me it couldn’t last forever, but I didn’t listen.

He told me it couldn’t be forever, but I didn’t care.

Love is Not Forever, neither was he.

Love is Not Forever, he tried to warn me.

I didn’t think he’d go,

In this horrid world only he thought, I was beautiful.

He was the boy with eyes that sparkled like the sun.

He was able to make me different from being ‘no one.’

There’s nothing like what we had,

Nor will there ever be

Love is Not Forever, for you or me.
