The mother yells from down the hall,
Her tears, like rain, begin to fall;
“Don’t make me come and look for you,
‘cause you won’t like the things I’ll do.”
~
And so this precious child of four,
Who does not know what love is for;
Slowly climbs out of her bed,
then kisses her Dolly on the head.
~
Her mommy grabs the child’s arm,
A pain that’s felt within her heart;
She throws her daughter on the ground,
The toddler dares not make a sound.
~
Consumed with fear, this child complies,
Just as she’s done all of her life;
And as her mommy’s hands explore,
She hates herself a little more.
~
“Don’t ever tell what I’ve just done,”
the mother warns this little one;
“Now go to bed,” her mommy screams,
at the child I use to be.
Somewhere deep inside of me,
A child of 9 forgets to breathe;
She dares not make a single sound,
For fear that she may soon be found.
~
She hugs the wall when darkness comes,
yet longs with all her heart to run;
She lays there in that dirty bed,
Awaiting what she knows she’ll dread.
~
They creep into her empty room,
Bringing her impending doom;
And just as every night before,
They use her as their puppet-whore.
~
She is defiled as she lays there,
Her body she is forced to share;
And when at last they say goodnight,
‘tis then this child begins to cry.
