Silence as I cross the field
Snow crackling underneath my feet
New flakes showering from above
Glittering in the moonlight like a cloud of stars
And like having been chasing stars is also how I feel
I've desperately been dreaming, but dreams are not real.

There is not even the quitest sound, all around
To the South have all the birds flown
The branches of the trees have been deserted for weeks
So no bird sings to me as tears run down my ice-cold cheeks.

I shiver, but yet I won't go home
Need to be here on my own
In the distance now at least the freezing wind wispers
But no one sees my tears rain down as ice crystals.
