Surrounded by friends and family
How could one feel alone?
But somehow in the midst of these
I can't claim this place my own

It seems there's something missing
I've lost prehaps a part
And if I truly ponder it
I'll find that part's my heart

For when I left I lost it
It stayed behind with you
And although you may not want it
I can't deny it's true

How then can I truly be as one
With such a void to fill
There's always somethig lacking
In every joy, and peace, and thrill

In time, they say, the peace will come
But they never say how long
How much time does it take
To feel you truly belong?
