THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US

BY: Jamaal Lovett

With all due thanks and respect

to God. Through him all things

are possible, and too Jamari, Jamya

and all my family and friends

who showed me how and believed

in me, and to anyone who lives with

the spirit of belief thank you.

Forward

for a moment in time

now that we have the chance to speak

let me be first say

i never forgot those thoughtful summer nights

and those pleasent filled summer days

it happened so fast

with no time to spare

but we still found a way

to show that we cared

i know you must be close

to being who you said you'd be

it was great to hear that when asked

you still remembered me.

I don't want to disturb you

or cloud your beautiful mind

but at times i do think of you

and that moment we shared in time.

If i'd known that all this time the joy of my life was the love inside

i would have went outside to reveal my pride so reality and i could coinside

Vision: I think that if we look close enough and as wide as we can believe, there

is something that connects us to a spirit of love that is time everlasting and aligned with the stars in such a way that the reveal time and at the same time repeat history

Forever and a day

after forever in between then and tomorrow

comes a moment of reflection a moment that`s borrowed

forever is here as I figured it would

yesterday was ours as it always should

this morning when I awoke I heard my self say

Im not sure which means more forever or today

not now love

I feel you here but not now love

I know you care but not now love

shouldn’t I see you first but not before pain

should I wait with an umbrella but not before rain

could you know me with out love

can you hear me with out love

do you believe in us with out love

can I love you, not now love.

I know what you think without love

but don’t be afraid to feel without love

what am I feeling right now

another chance at something I shared wouldn’t be to bad

if the love I feel right now didn’t grow so fast

back then things flowed more at an even steady pace

but as a man, now there are things that can’t be replaced

see back then everyday was only a beautiful smile away

but now beautiful smiles find my heart in need of a safe place to lay

yesterday my love was strong and as swift as they come

today I analyse through the night and assure the morning sun

tomorrow I’ll rise to meet the silence of sound

but nothing compares to the patience needed to plant a seed in yesterdays ground

platonicly yours

I’ve seen you before

and I still don’t know your name

I’ve felt you before

and it never fells the same

from where I stand the view is simple and plain

from where I’m from my eyes hear through their strain

time after time I stand in between doors

but for truth and spirt I’ll stay platonicly yours

as a world of beings we are divided. there is a clear difference in our discusions about spirituality and the state of the world. our talks never conclude with a definite resulution so afterwards we all return to our corners of belive to devise a new debate. religion is only a method to acknowledge the presence of god. which is evident by the convictions in which we devote our lives to. god is not a median. he is the almighty source by from which all things came. as people our focus should be to develope the best possible union spiritualy so that we all my opperate on a esteemed divine level as our religuos leaders do. god sees us all as equals under the same light.

we have to look to him to unite us all in this spiritual battle against evil. there is a common ground but the division of our religious preference is blocking that glorious union. there will be a second coming but i believe spiritualy is the basis not religion. this spiritual coming is of god with no preference to any religion only to gods people which is all of us. i also belive that this spiritualy is in us all but hasn't been awaken. as leaders which we all are. i feel it is our job to teach each other and elevate to a state of conciousness within our selves. not thinking that one is greater than the other or has a clearer possibility of beliefe. but that we all have the same oppurtunity with in our selves because jesus paid the price for it. somehow god has a way for us to live as a greater unified spirit than what exzits today.

i never thought it would be so hard when everyone likes you

it does feel good that feeling inside

another day conquared not a step out of stride

the sun has shined again; my smile full of pride

everything is a challenge; i have god on my side

when i make it home most times; questions run through my mind

does she see what i see; is love on her mind?

is being myself the same thing as falling in

was i too smooth with my tone? did i assure her the win?

there's another pretty face the same welcome in

late night coversations; a chance at a new friend

with all the comotionion i can't break ground

is it my distant behavior; my trips out of town?

what ever it is i've found this too be true

i never thought it would be so hard when everyone likes you.

you take everything away but promise the world

reaching for the moon is not what it seems

as you climb through the stars remember one thing

as you stretch out your arms i think you should know

as soon as you open your hands wide many things are let go

my pride was never fuel to get me through hard times

my heart was never enough to bring sight to the blind

i will proudly give everything without a promise from you in mind

but not if the cost puts my spirit in a bind

patients is the key to any door you wish to find

the moon is the reality of learning to value time.

, LeHold Upt Me Think

Did I see what I think I just saw?

Does she know what she just did?

At first I didn't notice, but after a while

I've come to appreciate the essence of your smile

Calm as a breeze,

Wide as the Nile

The comfort that it brings

Can be felt from a mile

Thank you again

For helping me find peace

And understanding every once and a while

Its ok to have something sweet

yeah though i walk through the shadows of death

if you sit back at life and gase at it all

you'll come to understand why great men fall

it's not the money the girls or the fame

it's when you open your eyes and theres no one to blame

if you live long enough you'll change inside

you might lose a dream you may sell your pride

all of these things are what keep you alive

but the shadows of death rely on them too strive

when you get to this point where lonlyness resides

look past all your worries and continue to rise

search deep in your heart with your head to the sky

open your eyes spread your wings and learn how too fly.

money

the root of all evil

or the value of my dreams

the center of life

or the most misunderstood thing

your promise is real

your strength is a lie

though you try hard to rule the world

you can't bring it life

don't get me wrong

i too use you to survive

but without the o i see clearly

you could be e n my at anytime.

my perspective of life

at times i wonder and ask myself why

i can never measure things up no matter how hard i try

i looked to the sky and god gave his sigh

it's not your perspective but the way you reply

the wound of uncertainty

you cut like a knife

but you don't have a blade

you bring doubt to my heart

when i need not be afraid

you work hard to confuse my logic

without being paid

you cast gray over my dreams

even though a plan has been made

i would take something to heal me

but i remember what he said

trust in me and believe

the only thing that's certain is the dead.

if i knew

i know it would be easy to love someone like you

probaly even easier to fall

i know to keep you i would have alot to prove

and i would graciusly excuse them all

i know that if i had the chance my heart would not be denyed

and if you gave me your heart for just one day you'd put your fears aside

i know how you feel about us men and some of our questionalble ways

but if i knew it was ok to love i would bring an unquestionalble end to those days.
