Love - The Taken

Sleep deep, young maiden,
for I come to thee in dreams,
lulled by the whispering.

I touch thee in dreamland,
sweet maiden fair.
Do you see how I caress
your gold-tinted locks?

Soft, downy, the feel of your skin.
Peach-sweet. Nectar on my lips.
I drink of thee.

Sleep deeply, young maiden.
Never waken to see
the ugliness that is me.

For in dreams, my rough hands
caress your golden cascade,
down-light, and precious,
a halo framing innocence.

To my mouth, your flesh calls,
peach-sweet, and succulent
in your purity.

I come to thee in dreamland
as I could never approach
in wakefulness,
for your love belongs to another.
