Tossing, turning
moaning, groaning.
Tries to sleep ,
Days are long.
Wonders when time will be gone.
Alone at night she moves and flops
just to make sure she still can.
Blinding light with the dawn,
A mask protects her eyes from the light.
The darkness soothes the ache.
Bitter tastes in her mouth,
more pills to wash down.
When will the torment end.
Passed from her mother and her mother before,
no cure for her she's sure.
Never to run again or walk again,
Her muscles to tight to move,
so tired of not speaking.
She hears what they say,
she knows it will end one day.
If only they'd listen they would hear the voice
she has.
Now she lays down her head, they place her back in bed.
She waits to see if tomorrow will be.
