Nightmares?

I lived in a place where there was nothing but huge walls--huge white walls--staring at me forever. There were voices and faces which didn't exist for anyone else…but for me, those faces and voices, they were the things that were actually real, nothing else was more realistic in my life…nothing.
I shouted and cried--to the people who I knew were real--to let me out and save me from that girl... the girl who tried to kill me, but they never did, instead they kept me locked in the white chamber with a steel door for days, with no food, no water, and nothing else except for a bed, and my small suitcase.
“You are just having nightmares, that's all!” they used to say after every conversation about the girl. But were they really just nightmares?? I didn't think so, not with those huge wounds on my arms and thighs.
She was a girl in her twenties, who wanted to kill me! She had golden hair, which shone in the white ambiance of my room and a pale face with deep-set blue eyes. Her golden hair added the only color to the stark surroundings.
I had golden hair too, which was her biggest envy...we were identical twins but my hair were always praised more then hers...Sometimes she was as sweet as an angel and at others crueler than the devil himself. I trusted her a lot, but can you ever trust the devil??

In The Past

Every so often, she would eat up all the cake and milk at home and my mom used to blame me for everything, never her. Sometimes she played pranks on my teachers and I was the one to get all the detentions. She used to trouble my neighbors and friends and everybody blamed me, even when she killed Mrs. Smith's cat just for fun, everybody blamed me again and sent me to boarding school. She followed me there and then to my college, where sometimes she acted like a helpful big sister, aiding me in my chores and studies.
But when I turned 23, and got my first job, she again became the devil she was. She killed my boss.I had told her that he humiliated me in front of the whole office without any reason at all. The cops arrested me because I was the one spotted on the crime scene, in blood stained clothes and hands. There were multiple stab-wounds on his chest, but it wasn't me who did that, it was her, SHE KILLED HIM! I rushed there to save him, but it was too late, she had already murdered him and fled the crime scene.
They put me in a nastier place than boarding school--JAIL--there too she followed me, pestering me in jail as well, coming to visit everyday, but I was already preoccupied with my trial which was a losing battle and the result could mean getting the death penalty. Seeing this, she wanted to kill the District Attorney, but I pleaded with her not to, this enraged her and she started raving and ranting, belittling me for being a coward. We had a big fight which the wardens overheard and reported in court. Everyone felt I was mad, even my own mother didn't believe me but the jury must have believed because instead of the death penalty I got to stay in a room inside the huge old-stone building on the mountains.
The room where the white walls stared back, where the voices and faces haunted my days and nights...everyone said the place was empty but for me it was full of people I was most scared of, especially the girl with golden hair, who was my twin sister, the girl I feared the most, who grinned in the sly-est manner whenever I was around her.

The Final Encounter

Today, she was there again, in her left hand was a dagger. On her face was the same look she had while killing Mrs. Smith's cat and my boss. The same menacing eyes when planning to kill the District Attorney.
She grinned, while slowly lifting up the silver dagger already stained with a little dry blood and licked it; the silver weapon looked almost invisible in the white background; she grinned again and then moving it deliberately towards me, pressed it against my cheek a little, then moved it down my cheek with speed creating a deep gash on my face, blood poured out of it like water. I shrieked.
She giggled and moved the dagger from the cheek to my arm, and slashed it ferociously, the pain was unbearable; I glanced at her face, it was contorted with a vicious snarl, eyes red with pent up fury. She gnashed her teeth and pulled the dagger away and with lot of force stabbed me in the stomach. The pain and shock of the blade slashing my stomach broke me out of this frenzy. Looking down I saw my hands covered in blood, tightly holding the hilt of the dagger and the blade inserted in my abdomen. I looked up and there she was, with messy golden hair and blue pearly eyes looking at me in...
Shock!, but it wasn't her it was my own reflection in the steel door of the room.
People said I suffered from Schizophrenia and Auditory Hallucinations mainly of the 3rd type i.e. a person who heard voices narrating his/her own actions. They always told me I NEVER had any sibling, let alone a twin sister, but my refusal to believe them was a major mistake. Everyone said I was scared of my own self, that the fear which haunted me was only in the mind and they were right...the biggest fear I had was the girl with golden hair, who was me all the time...
