The blade sliced across my wrist easily. The thin line of blood came to the surface. I sighed at the sweet, sinister release.
“Alyssa!” my step-mother screamed. I rolled my eyes. The drunken bitch probably wanted me to make her another martini.
“I’m coming,” I called back, acid dripping from my tongue.
“Hurry the fuck up! You have a visitor!” she was slurring her words together so much that I could not understand her at all.
I ran down the stairs quickly and just barely pulled my sleeve down in order to hide the cut I had just made before I made it all the way down stairs.
When I walked into the living room I stopped in my tracks.
Standing before me was the absolute hottest guy I have ever had the pleasure to come in contact with. He was at least six feet, dwarfing me by several inches. He had shaggy black hair with bangs that kept falling in his face. He had the most amazing eyes of my life! They were a violet purple with silver flecks in them. I didn’t even know that color was possible.
My father came into the room just then with a couple who I quickly determined must be Mr. Hattie’s parental units.
“Alyssa! Darling come meet your new husband and in laws,” Dad said with a huge grin on his face. His eyes glinted evilly.
“Um, husband?” I asked and glanced at Mr. Hottie with new eyes.
“Yes,” He replied, the threat clear in his voice. It basically said start something and you will regret it.
I nodded and flinched a little at his unspoken threat. That’s when the wonderful dizziness set in. I smiled slightly and excused myself. I ran upstairs and rolled up my shirt sleeve to look at the beautiful bloody wound. I got a different shirt and ran into the bathroom. I washed the cut thoroughly and bandaged it discreetly. I put on my fresh shirt, touched up my makeup and ran downstairs saying I hadn’t been properly dressed for the occasion. I looked at Mr. Hottie, though, and had a feeling he knew I was lying.
“So, Alyssa. We would be honored to have you as an addition to our family. Which is why we propose that you move in with Anthony today? Get to know each other a bit,” Mrs. Briggs stated.
“I would love to! But only if it’s alright with you dad,” I said, knowing he would want me out of his house as soon as possible too.
“Of course honey,” He said in sickly sweet voice. I suppressed an eye roll.
I glanced briefly at Tony, my soon to be hubby, and saw him glaring at my father. I smiled. Oh we are going to be perfect together.
“Do you mind if I call you tony?” I said, speaking directly at him.
“You can call me whatever you want,” he said and smiled broadly at me. I blushed, not exactly sure why though. I was always confident with guys. Something about this one though really turned me on and I was fighting to hide it.
“Shall I go pack my things?” I asked, not really directing the question at anyone.
“I’ll help you,” Tony said. Shit! I thought in alarm. He might see my razors! Let alone my bloody shirt!
“Oh, that’s…” I started to say but was abruptly cut off by my father.
“Of course. That would be fine,” He said, casting me a glance that made me shiver in fear.
I jumped up and led Tony up the stairs. He grabbed my shoulder and turned me around suddenly. We were right in front of my door. He kissed me deeply. I gasped which opened my mouth to him and his tongue started to dance with mine. And damn did he taste good! I kissed back with all I was worth.
When he pulled back we were both breathing heavily.
“I promise he will never hurt you again,” he whispered to me. Tears pricked my eyes and I kissed him again.
“Thank you,” I breathed and then walked into my room.
I started shoving my shit into bags. Tony laughed aloud at my haste. I turned and stuck my tongue out at him.
“Eager are we?” He asked sarcastically.
“Bite me,” I said.
He picked me up from behind and breathed against my neck.
“Tempting, very tempting,” he replied to my taunt. I shivered against him as his words sunk in.
“Plenty of time for biting later,” I breathed.
He let go of me. “That there is.”
I continued packing, but only the things I really needed. I tried to hide my bras and panties from his eyes, but he gave me a look that said I couldn’t hide them forever. I blushed.
I grabbed the sock from under my mattress that held the money I had procured and saved over the last ten years.
When everything was safely packed up and ready we headed downstairs again to our waiting parents. Well, his waiting parents, my waiting dictators.

“This is yours?” Tony asked.
“Hells yea! And I’ll be damned if imma leave it behind,” I said, running a loving finger over the shiny paint.
I opened the trunk and put my stuff in it. I hopped in the driver’s side and started it.
“You want to drive?” I asked Tony. His eyes lit up.
“Really?” he asked.
“Yea, sure. But if you crash my baby I will personally rip your head off,” I said sweetly.
Tony came over and kissed me hard on the lips. I smiled and scooted into the passenger seat.
Tony’s POV
Alyssa was awesome. It was love at first sight and I knew she felt the same. Of course I could read her mind, so I was kind of cheating. I smiled at her sleeping figure. She was dreaming of me. It was a very erotic dream and I was fighting back the erection it brought on.
The only flaw about Lyssa was her cutting. When she came down the stairs I was fighting to keep my fangs back. I could smell her sweet blood from a block away from her house.

“The beach is right behind. Then there’s the pool and the Jacuzzi. I hope you packed your bathing suit. Unless you want to go naked,” I winked. She blushed again; more details of her dream came back to her.
“Ha-ha, very funny,” she mumbled. She started to open her door then stopped. She was about to tell me her story.
Without speaking she rolled up her sleeves and turned on the overhead light. She showed me her scars, tears running down her face.
I got out of the car and ran over to her side. I picked her up and brought her into her new home. She was crying into my neck.
When we got to my plush leather couch I sat down and cradled her in my lap.
“I have something to tell you too,” I whispered.
“Go for it,” she said.
“You’re going to have to keep an open mind for this,” I said. She nodded, but frowned. “I’m… I’m a vampire,” I stuttered out. Her eyes widened and I could see her thoughts going in circles.
“Vampires don’t exist,” she whispered half-heartedly.
“You want me to prove it?” She nodded. I recounted her dream for her and she blushed. Then she gasped when she felt my erection beneath her. I could smell her arousal.

Lyssa’s POV
The kiss was long and hard. Then suddenly Tony stood up and air rushed past my ears. I saw that he had ran, vampire fast apparently, to a bedroom.
“Oh, my God!” I squeaked as he stripped off his shirt. He was ripped! I ran my hand lovingly across his hard muscles. He groaned and tilted his head back as I worked on his belt, fighting to get it off fast enough.
