The Commute
06/25/09

The morning was cool and the grass frosty as Jack Jones pulled into the

train station and parked his large white SUV in the closest spot he could find.

Jack commuted into the city every day from his quiet suburban neighborhood for

the last seven years. Everyday the same parking lot, the same train, the same

people. Sometimes Jack felt alone among the sea of others that he endured the

trip with. Today was very much one of those days.

Jack had been putting in very late hours at his office where a very big

project was due by the end of the month and his portion of the project was very

significant to its success. His stress level was through the roof and he wanted

very much to find something, anything that he could relate with that had

nothing to do with the job that was steadily pulling him under.

Jack’s normal morning routine was to get on the train, say a quick hello to

the two older gentlemen that sit in the front row, then talk his seat (the same one

for at least three years) and complete his morning trip to the office with a brief

twenty minute nap til the train rested at its final destination. Today would be

slightly off track from his normal routine.

When stepped onto the train he noticed that the old timers were not sitting

in their seats. Jack failed to recall a time when the two were not in those exact

seats. When he proceeded up the small staircase to the upper deck of the car,

he noticed a striking red head where he normally sits. As she shot him a friendly

smile, he took an open seat next to her. She was a stunning figure in a light red

dress that fell just below her thigh muscles, small white lace flowers near the top

the dress running along her breasts. Long flowing red hair that she had obviously

taken great care and consideration for that morning. She sported small rimmed

reading glasses that brought more attention to her bright green eyes. Suddenly,

Jack had not even considered taking his usual morning nap.

She turned suddenly and gave him a brief smile. Jack nervously gave one

back in return.

“Hi, I’m Cady.”

“I’m Jack”

“This is my first time riding the train into the city and it gets a bit confusing with all

the gates and boards and such.”

“I understand, I have been riding for years, and still get turned around

sometimes.”

And with that they spun themselves into a long and personal conversation,

revealing details about their lives, their work, and their sudden taking to one

another.

Jack spoke in lenth about his recent stress at work and his wish to simply

take the day to himself. To skip work and go see the sights of the city, or just sit

in a park bench. He expressed to Cady that he was a married man of many years

and had not had the time for the last several months to be with his wife and

family. Much of Jacks work life was beginning to cause major problems at home

with his family. Jack relished in the moment of releasing his stress onto her, and

admired her for allowing it.

“I’m so sorry to be gabbing on and on about this”

“No, it’s fine, I understand completely.”

Cady in turn spoke freely to Jack about how she was a house wife by trade, but

did volunteer work in the city a few days a week. She relayed to Jack the

unwavering love for her children, even when they are at their worst. She told

Jack that on most days her husband was a caring man and a good father to their

two young twins.

As the ride was winding down Jack and Cady kept each others’ attention

very well, asking questions of one another and responding with kind, meaningful

thoughts. The large commuter train came to a slow stop as the conductor

announced that they had reached their final destination. Jack and Cady didn’t

seem to think so.

Jack and Cady lagged a bit behind as the rest rushed off to their offices.

Morning rush hour in the train station looked me like an organized jail break than

anything else. They continued their conversation as if they were all alone in the

crowd of rushed, maddening people. They exited the front entrance and found

themselves on the great front steps of the cities largest train station.

They were visibly hesitant to give any parting remarks. The both of them

were reluctant to let go of the increasingly personal conversation between them

over the short trip and for several seconds at a time, they just looked at each

other in wonder about what the next topic should be. Jack finally opened the

gate.

“I’m playing hooky today, you interested in seeing the city?”

Cady returned with a sly, seductive smile.

“I do have some vacation time; I could use a day off.”

Several moments later, they were checked into a luxurious hotel about

three blocks from where they had exited the train station. As they stumbled down

the long hallway to their suite, they were engulfed in each others arms, kissing

passionately while pulling at each others clothes. It must have taken Jack five or

six times to get the key card into the proper slot.

Once inside, they continued their animalistic passion continued as

they tore each others clothes off, almost literally. At one point Jack ripped at

Cady’s blouse so hard it ended up against a far wall in multiple pieces. They

slung the covers violently to the floor in the throws of their sexual adventure.

They both felt so dangerous, so alive. What would others think of them if they

only knew what was happing at that exact moment. They attacked each other for

hours, completely giving in to their own selfish, sexual desires.

They lied close under the comforter that rested atop the soft five star

mattress. They must have ordered at least one of everything on the room service

menu. For several moments neither seemed to possess the ability to speak, but

just traded glances at each other. She was enjoying a rather large piece of red

velvet cake topped with the finest, immaculate cream cheese frosting, every bite

exciting to her taste buds. Jack, on the other hand, was immersed in an

enormous piece of New York style cheesecake. No toppings, just the good stuff.

This was Jack’s absolute favorite.

Jack was still chewing a large bite when he rolled slightly to his side to

face Cady. He chose his next words carefully as he addressed her stunning

beauty.

“You are truly a fantastic woman.”

“Thank you very much.”

“I’m truly thank full to have such an amazing wife like you.”

“Thank you Jack, I love you too.”
