Forever With You - Chapter one
She opened her eyes slowly. Her head pained and so did opening her eye lids. Everything seemed to be moving. Nothing stayed in its place. She could just make out a figure. It just stood there like it waiting for her to say something. Everything seemed blurry and un-clear. The face was also un-clear so it was hard for her to see who it was looking at her. Before she could even try to talk, her eyes closed again. After a couple of hours she had regained consciousness and could open her eyes once more. The pain on head had reduced and so did her eyes. The figure was not there this time. When she looked around the room it was dull and bring. It was a small room with four light blue painted walls. It had hardly anything in it. There were a lot of medical objects in the room which she could not identify. The floor was clean and everything looked well organized and tidy. She could hear the sound f beeping and so she had a clear guess as to where she was. She had to be in a hospital. When she tried to move her arms carefully she noticed a small needle attached to her arm. When she moved her head her curly and straight brown hair had fallen onto her face. She started to think to herself. Many questions rose up in her mind. Why was she in the hospital? What had happened? Does she have a family? If she did do they know that she is here? Then she had a big question fly up in her brain. Who was she? She had no idea what her name was. At that very moment a women had walked into the room. She wore a white coat and had a clipboard in her arms. She also had a stethoscope hanging around her neck. An obvious guess would be that she is a nurse. She had a big smile on her pretty face.
“Good mourning Eve, I am Nurse Joana, how are you this mourning?”
She didn’t know that she could even speak yet but she now knew one thing, her name was Eve. She tried to speak to see whether or not she could.
“Yes, I am good”
So she can speak. Eve was relived at that point. She was confused.
“I don’t remember who I am. Why am I here? What had happened?”
The nurse was quiet for a moment t and she smiled again. It was like she tried to force herself to smile. What happened why is she angry? Did she do something to her? She kept thinking to herself.
“All in good time, please be a little patient. I know that you are confused so I am going to tell you everything, but first I have to check you up. Let’s see how much you have recovered.
Eve did not want to wait. She waited for the nurse to do her medical things. The nurse wrote a few things down on her clipboard and also took off the needle from Eve’s arm. She had finished.
“Well you are absolutely fit and fine. All you have to do is rest for a while and you are good to go.”
Eve only needed to know about herself first. That’s all she really cared about.
“How long have I been here?”
The nurse replied back, “you have been here for a week”.
Eve was shocked. She though, what had happened that she had to be in hospital for a week? Also Eve wanted to know about who she was.
“Can you tell me now? About my past and who I am?”
The nurse sat next to me and smiled again.
“Okay first things first. You name is Eve but I’m thinking you have gathered that by now. You don’t have any family. We have tried to trace them but there is no one. I was told that both you’re parents died when you were eleven. You had a car accident and now you have lost your memory”
Eve could not believe this. She was absolutely gob smacked. What? No family?
Eve lay there while tears dropped out of her eyes. She kept her eyes down and felt like melting under the duvet covers. The nurse carried on, “but don’t worry, it can come back. You just have to try to remember your past by being with the people you know and reliving your life by doing your normal routines and bit by bit you may remember your past. Since you don’t have any parents were letting you go with your close friend, who you have known for a bout a year. He has come to pick you up”
Eve wondered as to whom that was.
“Who is my close friend?”
“Your friend Adam” said the nurse.
“You are fine now and we have prescribed you medicines. Your friend has already bought them for you and we have explained to him the instructions like when to give them to you. Done worry everything will be fine soon and by the way Your friend Adam is waiting for you outside. He has your belongings and the car is parked outside or so they say”
Eve didn’t know him. How could she go home with someone she didn’t even know? However he knows her and he can tell eve about her past and their friendship together.
“Okay then, guess I will be going home with him”
After half an hour she was ready to leave and had changed her clothes. She wore a white long sleeved top and a black jacket along with matching jeans. Eve thought why she felt comfortable in these clothes. They left the hospital and out into the parking lot. The man Adam put in her bags in the boot of the black BMW car and then closed the boot with a slam. Eve jumped by the unexpected sound. Then Adam opened the door for Eve. He had no facial expression at all. It was almost like he was giving the silent treatment to her. When someone doesn’t get what they want they usually give the silent treatment. Eve felt like he was doing the same with her. If he was her close friend then why didn’t he talk to her or smile at her. He would have gave her a hug and said, “Welcome back, I missed you. I have been so worried about you lately”, but he didn’t say anything like that. He looked like he didn’t want to take her.
“Do you want any help getting inside?”
That was the first time she had heard him speak. She could only answer with a no. she didn’t smile or speak loudly. It was quite dull actually. She followed him and didn’t speak unless it was needed. After she had got inside the BMW car he closed the door with a loud slam again. Eve did not jump as she watched him close the door. They drove into the highway and carried on going. The car drive was silent and nobody spoke. Air conditioning was not needed as it was a warm and sunny day outside. It felt quite warm and hot in the car but she did not care. She thought to herself.
“What am I doing? I am right now in a car with a guy I don’t know and going somewhere I have no idea where. Not only that I have no family, no job, no friends apart from this strange guy and I have no memory, what if he is a kidnapper or a murderer or a rapist?”
