chapter one

"Jason, please tell me you're not moving," I said for the last time knowing he really was.

"Diamond, I told you before: this is a huge chance for me. I got to go," Jason replied, pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek, like he would always do.

He pulled away and pulled out his wallet, quietly handing it to me. "Trey Songz is coming to town this weekend. There's a ticket and backstage pass in there. Make sure you leave on time to get to the Scope. He's a good person so he'll treat you right. Make sure Jazzmine walks with you. There's a ticket for her too, along with a backstage pass. So take her with you. Remember, I love you and I'll send for both you and Jazzmine. I promise," he said with a gentle smile.

I hugged him one last time and put his wallet in my bag with my cd's, ipod, and cd player before turning up the walkway to my house.

I went up to Jazzmine's room and sprawled across her bed with my feet crossed.

"Hey pipsqueak. How are you holding up," Jazzmine asked, coming into her room.

"I'm good, because I have something to look forward to," I said with a smile.

"I heard Trey Songz is coming to town. You got tickets and backstage passes from Jason. Can I go," she asked, with a smile.

"I have a ticket and backstage pass for you. He told me to take you with me to the concert," I said, with a smile.

"What time is the concert," Jazzmine asked.

"I haven't looked at the tickets, but concerts always start around seven so we should leave around six in order to get there before it starts," I said with a laugh.

"You can go backstage by yourself. I'll wait for you outside while you make the most of the night by getting to meet your favorite singer," Jazzmine said hugging me tightly to her chest as I laughed.

Saturday at the Scope ---------- Trey Songz concert

Jazzmine and I got to the Scope ten minutes before the show started and I handed the guy the tickets.

"Front row and the seats are labeled with numbers," he said giving me the ticket stubs back. We walked in and quickly found our seats in front of center stage.

"If we're lucky Trey will take his shirt off," I said making Jazzmine roll her eyes.

Just then the lights dimmed and the music to 'Can't Help but Wait' began to play. A dark shadow walked onto the stage and started to sing the lyrics as a spotlight was shown on him.

"Jazzmine, he walked on stage shirtless," I whispered in her ear.

"I'm not blind Diamond," she whispered back.

As if Trey could hear us he looked down at me and winked sending me into a fit of silent giggles. After two hours the show was over and I was heading backstage to meet Trey. When I got back there I showed security my pass and they let me in.

"Diamond, over here," Tremaine called, the moment he saw me.

I ran over to him and threw my arms around him. "You remember my name," I said making him laugh.

"You're my girl. So of course I remember your name baby," he said with a smile.

"You knew I was here didn't you," I asked playfully punching his arm.

"Yes I knew. I only knew because Jason told me he gave you the tickets and backstage passes. I also knew you were going to be in the front row, so you'd be able to see me shirtless a lot better, beautiful," he said catching his agent's eye.

"So this is the girl you pulled that stunt for. You had half of those women hyperventilating out there," the guy said.

“Sorry Mike, but when I heard she was coming I had to do something. This is my girl, man,” Tremaine said giving me a kiss on my cheek.

“Did you tell her anything yet, Trey,” Mike said.

I looked at Tremaine confused and he looked at me with apologies in his eyes.

“Tremaine what’s going on? I’m not as dumb as you seem to think," I said and he flinched at my words.

“Please don’t get mad at me. I want you to come to L.A with me,” he whispered quietly.

“Why do you think I would be mad?  What’s going on Tremaine,” I asked.

“My mother has cancer and she wants to see you before she dies,” he said looking down.

“Tremaine you know you just have to ask. I’d do anything for you,” I said pulling him to me.

He wound his arms around my waist as I felt sobs rack his body.
