High School. Four years filled with joy, fun, partying, and in my case, discovering that my life really sucked some major ass.
So maybe I should tell you a little about myself. My name is Annabell, I’m fifteen, and a virgin in every possible way ( yep, no first kisses yet). To some, and when I say some I mean most, this part of me was a definite lack of social standards. By my age, girls were already having sex and multiple boyfriends for gods sack, but me? Nah...I was desperately waiting for my man to come pull me from the gloomy shadows of single-hood…
too bad… he has no idea who I am.
Matty. Words cannot express my feelings or thoughts of him. All I can sum up about him was, he was perfect. At 6”0, he has deep, crystal blue eyes, and fluffy brown hair that made me want to touch it every time I saw him. Despite his interests in some usual teenage activities ( drug use) and being 17, he was perfect in my mind. If only he just noticed me…but I was pretty sure he was interested in girls with fake everything…until the day fate finally brought us together.
Life started off as a normal day, I awoke to my Dad and my monster of a step-mom making me feel like shit once again.
“Annabell, come here this instant”, my step-mom roared.
Ugh. The last thing I wanted to deal with this morning was her and her complaining. I stretched, put on my robe, and walked down the hall into my parents room where I found my step-mom ( Cindy is her name but I’d rather just refer to her as step-mom) laying in her bed looking gorgeousssssss as ever.
“Now Annabell you see, your father and I wanted to talk to you about dinner tonight, because plans have changed. As originally planned we were all going to go out to Rico de Paro for you birthday, however, we decided that we wanted a date night alone, so you can stay home tonight and we will celebrate later. “
You’ve got to be fucking kidding.
“Wait, so let me get this straight,” I managed to choke out holding back soft sobs. “You’re postponing MY 16th birthday dinner that we have had reservations for, for over a year, to go out on one date with MY dad?”
“Oh relax Annabell”, my step-mom said in her usual bitchy tone. “You’re sixteen now, you can live with it and learn to deal with-“
I didn’t even let her finished, I stormed out of her room and ran straight to the kitchen to find my dad to confront him about this situation.
“How could you?”
As I entered the kitchen, my emotions were on high and I couldn’t contain it anymore, so I walked over to my dad and poured his coffee all over him, leaving him screaming and swearing in pain.
That was not one of my best decisions…
“ANNABELL! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!!” he shouted violently.
Despite my fear over my dad’s screaming, I stood up for myself and managed to tell him what I felt.
“You postponed MY birthday dinner to go out again with….IT?!” I pointed to my step-mother’s room.
His face suddenly became a ghostly white and he looked straight at me with sorrow-filled eyes.
He had forgotten my birthday.
“Annabell...Oh my gosh I am so-“, my dad tried to spit out, but again I didn’t want to hear it.
“You know what dad, save it. And have a great fucking time tonight and don’t bother talking to me when you get home.
I quickly spun out of the kitchen, ran straight to my room and plopped myself onto my bed and started sobbing. What a great birthday this was becoming.
