I walked into her house like I usually did but there was a small storm outside so I knew she would be on the porch reading or taking a nap but I knew she just started a new book so I knew she was probably going to be on the porch so I made my way to the back of the house over by the porch pot I saw her staring out the door wind blowing leaves into the house. I took in the sight of her, open book at her side, half eaten chocolate cake-ball in the other hand. She had on a sleep shirt and the boxers that Christopher, her brother, gave her. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her waist and followed her gaze to a half of a tree that fell down and she whispered “I opened the door and it fell just split in half right in front of my eyes… scared the shit out of me!”
I could not help but laugh and I quickly kissed her cheek but before she could react I pulled her away from the door and shut it. She gave me the death stare and I took the hand with the cake-ball in it and ate it out of her hand and smiled slyly. She hate when I was all ‘romantic’ and ‘crap’ as she would say. She rolled her eyes and went up stares. I followed suet grinning.
I went to sit on the couch but she told me “sit on the floor with me” not in a demanding voice but a questioning voice. so I sat down where she asked and stretched my legs out while she turned on the TV and she asked me, “do you want to watch a movie or the woman’s FIFA.
I told her calmly “Whatever you want to watch. I don’t care, as long as it is not that comedy central crap”
She laughed and told me sarcastically “But I love Comedy central! Ok I don’t feel like choosing a movie so we will watch soccer!” It was already on the game, It was 5 minutes in to the USA and Colombia game.
She walked over to me and sat in my lap, surprised by her flopping down on me, I grunted and then laughed at the face she made. And next thing I know she is laughing with me and then our attention is back on the game the US just scored!
She settled in, not on my lap anymore but in between my legs her back against my chest, my arms around her stomach and my chin on her left shoulder I lightly kissed her ear and whispered “I Love you, Kathryn.”
I felt her shiver and i smiled she did not say a word, but I did not care. So we stayed like that the rest of the game, her sitting in my lap in my arms. It was nice. And the next thing I know, I’m asleep.

CHAPTOR 1- The Game

I was going to the last game of the season because I heard it was supposed to be the best game and the fact that my little sister needed a ride to go see it. She wants to play basketball that is her dream to be as good as the girls she watches play in my grade. But that does not matter because I had to watch Elvira, as I call her, and I was going to sit with by the trainers for the team, Kel and Sole are some of my only friends. Kel was like me, but 10 times worse, she was almost a mute and when she did talk you could barely here it. The only reason she does the trainer thing is so she does not have to do P.E. And Sole, well just think about his name and you have him pegged.
“Sole, Kel, this is my little sister, Elvira.” I explained gesturing to my little sister who was following me like a dog.
“My name is not ‘Elvira’ it is Egween!” Elvira insisted.
Sole looked at her and whispered to her “I like Elvira Better, prettier, to match your face.” I rolled my eyes; he flirted with everything suspected of being female.
“Hi Egween, I’m Kellandry, but call me Kel.” Kel told my sister softly, she always liked little kids.
Sole looked up at the coach beckoning him and told me and Elvira “got to go, tal to you during the game dude!” and he pulled Kel with him.
Sole ended up talking to Elvira most of the game telling her about the players and took her on the court during ½ time, while I quietly watched the game with Kel.
Near the end of the game this one girl drew a foul from the other team, and Kel looked at me and quietly told me “Everyone calls Kathryn ‘The Brick Wall.’ Well now you know why” and as Kel said that the girl from the other team was looking at ‘The Brick Wall’ with a mean look, and Kathryn was holding her hand out to help the other girl up. But the girl got up on her own faced Kathryn, who started to turn around to go back to her area, but the girl punched her on the cheak.
The referees ran over yelling “TECHNICAL! TECHNICAL! You! Number 29! Technical go sit with your team you are not allowed to play for the rest of the game, you need to cool down.” And then they turned to Kathryn, who was rotating her jaw, and asked “Are you alright? Do you want to do your free throws?”
“Of course” She carefully told him. And walked towards the free throw line where she was handed the ball and she shot twice barley making it the first time and making it a second. Bringing the score to 53-50, we were winning! But the coach took her out and sat her beside the trainers told her to drink and rest.
Sole asked “You Okay Kat?”
“Yah. Fine, just aggravated at that girl’s insolence! Who is that Sole, Your new girlfriend?” Kathryn said nonchalantly looking at Sole.
“This is Elvira, or Egween, Nawat’s little sister, she wants to play basketball like you.” She looked at me when Sole pointed to me.
But looked at Elvira and said “those are interesting names and that is pretty cool do you know what position you want to play?”
I looked at Elvira who was explaining to Kathryn what position she played, and then she told Kathryn “Nawat comes to every one of my games but this is the first high-school game he has been to. I think it is funny actually! Do you have older siblings?”
“Yes I do, but all three are in college. “ Kathryn told my little sister, I was surprised at the way she was talking to my sister, as if they were equals, none of my friends did that they all blew her off. It was a nice change.
“I think you would like Nawat he is the best brother Ever! He would do anything for me!” and she looked at me and quickly added “if it is good for me. He won’t do anything to hurt me “
“I would go Blind and Depth before I ever hurt you. Sole can you watch her, Mum is calling.” I told Elvira as my cell started the “BEWARE, BEWARE, IT IS THE MOTHARE!” ringtone
Sole looked at Me sidelong and told me “yah sure, and do you want to come with the team to eat after the game?”
“Can we Nawat?” Elvira asked with her puppy-dog face and everyone around laughed.
“I’ll consult your mum! And yah if we can.” I told them starting to walk out the gym.
I asked my mum if we could go and eat with the team, which was a yes, and I told her the score, it was 57-51, and that there was 2 minutes left.
I walked back over towards Kel, Sole, Elvira, and that Kathryn girl, I revised just how pretty she was right at that moment. I continued walked towards them all talking suppressing my thought and I said “We can go as long as you are nice to mum the rest of the week, no attitude little-miss-drama-queen. “I directed towards Elvira.
Who giggled and accused, “Me? Couldn’t be! You are the drama-Queen, or should I say King?!”And she giggled some more and me and Sole Laughed with her wile Kel Smiled and Kathryn laughed a little bit to as the busser sounded the end of the game. “We won! We won! We won!”
