A dark angel appeared in the in the room of a young girl. He looked around and saw machines hooked up to her barely keeping her alive, the angel’s cold eyes, that have seen thousands of deaths like this one oddly struck him and left him with a foreign empty feeling, saddened at the sight of the frail, beautiful girl that laid on the bed in front of him. As he continued to look around the room a strong smell hit him, it reeked with infection and decay.

“Come on out,” the angel said bending down and gently tapping the girl’s forehead, “it’s time for me to take you to Heaven.”

The girl’s body lit up with a strange pale light; the light lifted from her body and took the shape of the girl, she looked around and saw her body on the bed. Her knees grew weak with the sight of her frail body lying on the bed attached to all the machines. Then she noticed the tall angel standing above her body. The angel was dressed in a long, black cloak, and had two black wings folded on his back.

“Is that really me?” The girl asked the angel weakly.

“Yes.” The angel responded.

Tears began to form in her eyes. “Am I dead?” she asked noticing the scythe.

“No……. Not yet anyways. Your body is still alive but it has become inhabitable for your soul.” The angel said solemnly.

“NO... I cannot die yet!” The girl yelled.

“I am sorry but I have to take you” The angels voice wavered as he said this. “It’s your time to go I am sorry” He said more firmly.

“Can… Can I at least see my parents one last time?” She asked.

The angel’s thoughts of his duty to Heaven wavered again. “What is it with this girl?” He thought.

“Yes I guess I could let you say goodbye, if you think your body can last long enough.”

“What happened to me?” the girl asked.

“You got very sick. And then you started to get infections… your body just can’t take it anymore.” the angel’s voice cracked “What is wrong with me?

” he thought. “You were in so much pain the doctors placed you in a coma to help you through the pain till you passed.”

The girl dropped to her knees and began to cry. The angel walked over to her and knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her. “It will be ok Erin I will make sure you live long enough.. To at least say goodbye to your parents.” the angel promised. “What am I doing….?

” Razeal thought.

“Th-thank you….. Wh-what is your name?” she asked through her tears.

“My name is Razeal” The angel replied. The girl’s vision began to fade in and out then everything went black.

5P.M. The girl’s family entered the room.

“Good bye… I love you all” Erin said too quietly for anyone to hear.

1A.M. “Razeal… I’m ready” Erin whispered. She began to glow and her spirit lifted from her body.

“How was your last day on Earth” Razeal asked. “Why should I care how her day was?

” Then a sudden realization hit him.

“Horrible everyone looked so sad… but I am happy I got to say good bye even if they didn’t hear me. Thank you for helping me stay alive to say good bye Razeal” Erin said softly.

Razeal reached out his hand and gestured to Erin to take it. “It’s time to go.” Erin grabbed his hand and they vanished from the hospital and then suddenly they appeared before a massive gate.

“Here’s your stop Erin” Razeal said with a weak smile.

“Aren’t you coming with me?” Erin asked with fear creeping back into her voice.

“No I can’t” Razeal said while turning his head away from her.

“Why can’t you?”

“I gave up my wings so you could have your last wish…” Razeal looked into Erin’s tear filled eyes.

“Why did...”

“I did it because…” Razeal paused and looked at Erin softly. “…I love you…”

A blinding light engulfed Razeal and when the light faded on the ground was his pitch black wings.

3 months later on Earth.

A man is sitting beside a grave. “Hey Erin sorry it took me so long to find you. I had to change my name since we last met, my old one wouldn’t have fit in here on Earth,” The man weakly laughed. “The people here call me Jordan now. I just wanted to say happy birthday and I love you.” The man stood up and left a flower and a small white card with two black wings on it.
