car suddenly stopped and we were outside my house with my brother sitting on the porch on his laptop. I said a quick thank you and walked straight inside the house.
Heading upstairs, I waved hello to my parents; my mother was in kitchen cooking dinner, and my father was in the living room going over some left-over work. I was in my room fast, and in the bathroom taking a shower faster. I walked out in only a towel to see my brother sitting on my bed. I walked over to my closet and grabbed a pair of silk pajamas and sat on my bed with a raised eye-brow at my brother. He shrugged and began signing. 'So, you're hanging out with those guys?' I nodded a simple yes and he sighed. 'Just be careful' and with that last warning, he was out my door.
Laying back on my bed, I began to think of all that happened in the passed month, and sighed from the small head-ache it gave me. I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, I was out like a light.

                                                                           *Carter*

As soon as I assured myself that she was inside safely, Carson drove home. We walked in the house in complete silence, which freaked my dad out. “Son, what happened?” I shook my head at him just sat down.
“My mate found out what I was.” I said quietly. My dad’s eyes told me to continue. “She stared then she just petted my fur. She didn’t freak or anything.” His eyes widened. I received a pat on the back and slept peacefully during the night.

                                                                          *next day*

I woke up late and ran to school, ignoring the sleepiness in me. I saw Hazel walking into the building and followed her as she met up with her friends, Marilyn and Carrie. They said their hellos and giggled at something one said. I walked up to them and wrapped my arms around Hazel’s small waist, and felt as she turned around to look at me. Once she saw me, she raised an eyebrow. I shrugged my shoulders and just nuzzled my nose into her neck, inhaling her scent.
Carrie and Marilyn were both gaping at me but I ignored them enjoying the feeling of having my mate in my arms. I reluctantly said a quick good-bye to Hazel so I could go back to the guys. Not soon after I left I heard loud whispers and a shriek as Nina Lonsin entered the picture. Nina was standing over Hazel who was sitting on the ground. Marilyn was being held back by Carrie as she was looking ready to claw Nina’s eyes out. Hazel silently stood and was about to walk off before Nina grabbed her shoulder and slammed her into the wall.
Hazel gasped and balled her fists, and I watched from afar seething in place. Hazel lifted her tiny hands and swung a balled fist towards Nina’s face. Nina went down immediately and Hazel threw another punch at her stomach. Hazel’s eyes which were normally a mix of beautiful colors, were now a dark and stormy grey. Her older brother Hale quickly rushed over and grabbed his sister who shrieked loudly causing people to stare. “Sorry!” he said in a loud voice. “She takes medicine for her ears and it causes anger management problems. Don’t piss her off and you got nothing to worry over.” He finished quietly.
I stared as he pulled her away, not believing his excuse for a second. I quietly followed behind them using my wolf-like stealth. Her brother was moving his hands rapidly while talking at the same time. “How could you be so careless as to have lost some control. You need to be more careful. If you don’t stop having tantrums, they’ll put you back on that medication. Is that what you want?” She shook her head slowly after he finished.

Hale is now driving me home, much to my relief, as I had managed not to receive a detention today. The car suddenly jerked, making me realize that we arrived home. We walked inside the house to see our mother sitting on the couch crying while talking to our father. I turned to Hale to ask him what they were saying, but stopped when I saw his expression. His face was contorted with anger, and his fists were tightening. He marched into the living room and began to yell, I’m assuming anyway. His hands were flailing around wildly, and my parents were just bowing their heads in shame. In shame?

My mom turned to see my confused face, and jumped up to grab my arms. She let go of my arms and began to apologize furiously in sign language. She then began to sign again: “ I’m so sorry baby! We meant to tell you earlier, you’re adopted.” I stood there completely gobsmacked. I was adopted. I signed back: “from who?” They only shook their heads.

I couldn’t take it, and decided to run. I quickly ran out the house and into the forest. Running blindly, I managed to make it to my special spot. Already there was Carter’s handsome, black wolf. I ran up to him and hugged him tightly. He pulled away from me and walked behind a bush. A minute or two later he came out human and without a shirt. If I wasn’t so upset, I’d be drooling over him. He sat down next to me and wrapped his arms around me.  I leaned into his embrace, and sighed contently.
