Now the common man on the road asks questions, borrowing the style of Arnab Goswami!
Why Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President and Manmohan Singh the former Prime Minister are distressingly quite and not owning up the moral responsibility for the near total annihilation of Congress in four months. Why do they are in a Silent Mode leaving poor Rahul to take all the media bashing? Why congress stalwarts like AK Antony, Digvijay Singh, P Chidambaram etc still bank on Rahul Gandhi whom the Nation has rejected twice to revive the fortunes of the beleaguered Congress, thus epitomizing the leadership crisis in the Congress, thus manifesting their own reluctance or incompetence in taking the lead to save a drowning ship. Why not even one General Secretary or one CWC member does present himself in the visual media and connect with the people explaining why the Party lost the two rounds of elections and what the Party plans to rejuvenate the aspirations of lakhs of Congress workers whose morale is at its nadir at the moment It is astonishing that no central leader felt that it is his moral obligation to speak to the Congress men in Maharashtra & Haryana, console them and urge them to come out of their predicament. Is it not unfortunate that this unpleasant onus had to be taken on by that gentleman Chief Minister, Prithwi Raj Chouhan, who accepted whole responsibility of the poor showing in Maharashtra? Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda did not even think of it! Doesn’t it show the degree of despair that Congress is in now when we, the common public, are subjected to watch Congress spokespersons like Sanjay Jhas, Shobha Ojhas, CR Kesavans, Ajay Kumars, Priyanka Chaturvedis etc with scant political expedience and acumen haplessly try to defend the cause of the Party and get ridiculed every time by the anchors and more experienced spokespersons from other parties.
The list is long in fact. Due to lack of space and time we rest the case here!
37. Tharoor owes an apology to te Nation : 17 Oct 2014
Shashi Tharoor says to NDTV “ Won’t surrender Mahatma Gandhi & Sardar Patel to Modi”
Silent Majority just can’t believe that Shashi Tharoor whom we consider as some one with a level head could make such a malevolent statement. We thought he has the basic minimum intelligence to know that Mahatma Gandhi & Sardar Patel live in the hearts of 1.27 billions of Indians and not in the captivity of any political party. No Indian needs any permission or coercing from the so-called self styled saviors to adore and respect the Father of the Nation and Rashtra Shilpis like Nehru, Patel and Ambedkar.
If the statement is true, Mr Tharoor owes an unconditional apology to the Nation for belittling Mahatma and Patel in such an insalubrious manner.
38. Silent Majority Speaks : 23 Oct 2014
Isn’t it astonishing that it took exactly 43 years after independence for you and me to envision what is Election Commission all about? There had been 9 Chief Election Commissioners before TN Sheshan took over in 1990 and I bet you and me would find it difficult to name few of them for the mere fact that no major electoral reforms worth noticing by the common public were introduced and no one endeavored to redefine the status and visibility of the election commission with regard to enforcing measures to curb electoral malpractices that raged the election processes in our country for years together. Sheshan managed to stamp his authority on the country's electoral system by conducting the elections with transparency & efficiency. So now we know what Election Commission is all about.
Aren’t you feeling ashamed that we took more than 60 years to decipher Comptroller and Auditor General of India and to get to know what he is supposed to do? You and me always thought CAG is an ornamental highly paid accountant who keeps the balance sheet of the Govt clean and tidy. We needed a man called Vinod Rai, born in Independent India, to tell us CAG is not merely an Accountant and expose to us that this shining India is plagued by corruption at high places in the form of 2G Scam, CoalGate, CWG Scam and the likes. Better to be enlightened late than Never!
Latest, we have always been thinking Chancellor of a University is a rubberstamp who toes the line of ruling Govt and of the celebrated Vice Chancellors. We live basking on the glory of the VCs and always pinned our hope on them to revolutionize higher education in our country. But, you and me are totally dismayed and bewildered as to what is happening at the moment with the so-called esteemed universities in our state. The other day it was reported that Justice P Sadasivam, Governor and also the Chancellor of all Universities in Kerala observed that the overall functioning of our universities is in total chaos. Disgusted Chancellor has called a meeting of all VCs on 27 Oct, first time such a meeting is called in the State, to cleanse the total mess. Again, better to be enlightened late than Never!
39. Cruelty at its worst: 19 oct 2014
Reyhaneh Jabbari, the Iranian woman who was hanged by Iran on Saturday,
Now read her story
Reyhaneh Jabbari was 26 years old and had been in Tehran’s dreaded Evin prison since 2007.In July 2007
She was alone inside a coffee shop and was speaking on her phone about architecture and design. Morteza, a physician and a former employee of the feared Iranian Intelligence Services, overheard the conversation, approached her and asked for her expertise in order to renovate his office. The afternoon of 7th of July 2007, Morteza made an appointment with Reyhaneh for business purposes
. Reportedly, Morteza stopped his car at a pharmacy on the way to the appointment. It was later discovered he bought condoms. Then they went into the apartment and Morteza closed the door. Morteza approached her and demanded to have sex with her; he had already made some drinks for her. Forensics analysis found that the drink he intended to serve to Rayhaneh contained sleeping aids and sedatives. Reyhaneh did not allow him to rape her, therefore he asked her several times to have sex with him but Reyhaneh resisted. During this time she felt threatened and scared.
Fearing imminent rape, she took a knife out of her bag and stabbed Morteza at the back of his right shoulder. Morteza died due to heavy bleeding
. An interrogator went to the apartment and made a report. At that time Reyhaneh clearly stated to the investigator that she was innocent, that she had met Morteza a week earlier, and that said she killed him only in self-defence
.“The evening I was there, I knew that he wanted to rape me, so because of self defence I stabbed him and escaped,” she said. Reyhaneh explained that she had to defend herself: “Two and half months before the crime, I saw the doctor and his friend, at that time my phone was ringing, so I picked up the phone and was speaking to one of my friends about the decoration, and design, and the doctor’s friend realized that I was an interior designer.”
She added: “Morteza’s friends came closer and got my contact number to ask help to design a private health centre. After a couple of days, the doctor’s friend’s calls started and thereafter Morteza himself called and invited me to visit the flat, which was supposed to be converted to private health centre. The time was 6:15 that evening when I reached there, and I found Morteza looking suspicious. I was so worried and anxious so, I decided to take out the knife and I stabbed his right shoulder. Believe me, I just wanted to be safe, that is why I did it, because I had no other choice. The same day, Reyhaneh was sentenced, and the decision was confirmed by the Supreme Court
. Now, any moment it is possible for her to be hanged. Fitnah calls on groups and individuals to step forward and stop her execution. Despite requests from the whole Humanity she was hanged on Saturday In Iran men and women, including some minors, face execution everyday for some 131 offenses punishable by death under the Islamic Republic of Iran. Some of these crimes include adultery, theft, homosexuality, drug possession and political dissidence. Iran hangs more people per capita than any other country in the world, Since President Rouhani’s election; there has been a sharp increase in executions. Trials in Iran fall short of International standards and the majority of those hanged did not even have access to a lawyer, jury, or even evidence
Now mourn for her, comrades! Nothing else we can do!
May her soul rest in Peace

40 Rape : Most Disturbing word ! 02 Nov 2014
In India ‘Rape’ has become a buzzword for public at large, fourth estate and politicians irrespective of their party affiliations. They use this word, once very carefully & thoughtfully used by one and all not long ago, left, right, and center as if they are playing scrabble! As a matter of fact politicians are the top exponents of this game!
Please go thru the list below, you will be stunned I am sure!
Latest, RR Patil
SANGLI (Maharashtra): Former Maharashtra home minister RR Patil landed in a controversy at an election rally on Saturday when he said, "If the candidate wanted to become a legislator, he should have waited till the elections and then raped."
Means he approves rape, only timing is his problem!
Babu Lal Gaur, BJP veteran leader
“Rape is a social crime which depends on men and women. Sometimes it is right, sometimes it is wrong. Until there is a complaint, nothing can happen. Unless the person wants, no one can dare touch her. The item numbers in films create a bad environment. Also foreign culture is not good for India. Women in foreign countries wear jeans and t-shirts, dance with other men and even drink liquor, but that is their culture. It is good for them, but not for India, where only our traditions and culture are OK. Let women consider what is good and bad for them.”
Blames women, not men!
Ram Gopal Yadav, Samajwadi Party leader
“Vulgarity, obscenity and violence shown on TV channels are to blame for the multiple incidents of rape and assault in UP. In many places, when the relationship between girls and boys come out in open, it is termed as rape.”
A nonsensical argument!
Abu Asim Azmi, Samajwadi Party leader
“If you keep petrol and fire together then it will burn. There should be a law to ensure that there should be no ‘nangapan’ (nudity). Those who wear fewer clothes should also be banned. Fashion and nudity are responsible for the current situation in India. And in rural India, girls don’t go searching out for boyfriends. I support death penalty for the Delhi rapists but there should also be a law that women should not wear fewer clothes and roam around with boys who are not their relatives. What is the need for roaming at night with men who are not relatives? This should be stopped.”
Again attack on women!
Jitendar Chattar, Leader of Khap panchayat of Haryana
To my understanding, consumption of fast food contributes to such incidents. Chowmein leads to hormonal imbalance evoking an urge to
