Chapter 1
I buried my head in the pillow that was laying on Griffin’s chest. He was spending the night after I got a call from my dad. He said his meeting was moved to some place in Ohio. Ohio is pretty far from where I live, Manhattan New York. So seems how today is Monday and we have summer vacation starting Wednesday, my dad wont be home until next Monday!!!!! My Junior year is about to end.
I was to busy thinking about Griffin to be worrying about school in the morning. It was 10:30 by this point. I felt great! His cold body pressed against my warm body. I knew he was happy. I was. I rolled over so I was facing the window. Closed up tight but it was like I could feel a breeze. I think it was from Griffin’s body. He slid over and fit his to mine. He wrapped his arms around my body and hugged me tight. I turned to face him. He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine and kissed me. Then I pulled away. I rolled back over to see my window still closed. We just laid there for the rest of the night. When I woke up he wasn’t in sight. I looked at the clock and it was 8:00 am. I didn’t know where he’d be but when I got the scent of pancakes I was happy. I heard him coming so I sat up.
“Morning!” He said in an amazing voice. I yawned.
“Morning.”
“I made breakfast.”
“Mmmm! I see that! Pancakes!”
“Yeah.” he handed me the plate and I ate.
“Aren’t you going to eat?” I asked him. I didn’t want him to go hungry.
“No. Not hungry .” I was surprised he wasn’t hungry. Or thirsty for blood.
“I have to ask you this. I can’t help but wonder. Are you tempted to drink blood?” I thought about that question for a second then I realized that it was dumb.
“No.” We didn’t say more. He took my plate downstairs and came back in about 30 seconds later.
“That was fast.” We chuckled as he closed the door.
He climbed back into bed again and asked, “what about school?”
“Skip it!” I responded. I was excited.
“Okay.” he slid next to me and closed his eyes. He was wearing his jeans and I had my t shirt on and my pants on from the day before. He ran his elegant fingers through my hair. Then he stated to kiss my lips. I kissed back. Gentle and amazing.
Chapter 2
I heard my door swing open fast. We looked up and saw my dad standing there with shotgun. Griffin and I froze in our exact position. Me laying beside him. I jumped up and griffin was still laying there.
“Daddy I can explain.” I said scared.
“GET OUT!” he shouted to Griffin.
“Dad it wasn’t his fault. It was mine.” Griffin then leaped out of bed.
“Out!!!” he hollered again pointing towards the door. Griffin ran out the door. Without noticing he ran fast. Like a vampire. My dad was to focused on me. I looked at him and my eyes started to water.
“Dad. I’m sorry. I really am.” No I’m not I thought.
“No your not.” He said. I swore he read my mind.
“You know what dad. You’re right. I’m not sorry. I loved being with him. I am a junior dad! I have to grow up soon. Next year I’ll be graduating and moving out.”
“So! I left here thinking I could trust you and you bring home some boy.”
“Dad, he’s not just some boy! I love him.” I said loudly.
“Love?! Well home come I have never heard of him? What’s his name? When did you meet him? Where did you meet him.” he asked a lot of questions and I wasn’t sure I wanted to answer them all. But I did.
“His name is Griffin. I met him at school.”
“When?!?!”
“Yesterday.” I knew my dad would hate hearing it. I started crying.
“Yesterday?!?!” by now I was balling. He let out a heavy sigh then he walked away slamming the door behind him. I jumped on my bed and laid there.
I finally got dressed in clean clothes and went downstairs. I saw my dad sitting on the couch watching TV. He didn’t even look up at me. I went over and I sat next t him.
“I’m sorry dad.” he ignored me and just sat there. I sat next to him for about 5 minutes then he got up and walked away. “I’m going to go to school.”
“Fine.” he said angry.
I got my school stuff ready and walked out the door.
“You’re going to need a ride, aren’t you?”
“No. I can walk.”
“Ok.” I walked out the door and headed the direction of the school. Of coarse I wasn’t really going to school because I was too mad. I just needed to leave the house.
Chapter 3
I was walking on the road we me and Griffin almost ran into the 18 wheeler. I was wearing a V neck and skinny jeans with flip flops so my feet started to hurt. I saw a car come up near me and I could see four boys. Two in the front and two in the back. The one in the passenger seat rolled down the window and said, “hey! Wanna go for a ride?” he grinned. I looked at him.
“No thanks.” I was getting nervous about this particular group.
“C’mon. hop in.” I was freaking out on the inside but not the outside.
“No. I’m seriously fine.”
“You don’t want to miss out on all the fun.” him and the driver each held up a beer.
“I don’t drink. I’m only 17.”
“I’m 18.” I was scared now. The one in the passenger seat and the one behind him opened their doors. I was slowly backing up. They came toward me and I turned the other way towards the road and started to walk slowly. I heard them slam the doors. I just kept walking. I didn’t want them to think I was afraid. I just wanted them to think that I wasn’t going to take their bull. I heard them coming and then I felt breathing on my back. I turned around fast. I was face to face with the one I was talking to. He leaned towards me and kissed my cheek. I slapped him so hard that my hand hurt. He threw a punch back and his fist knocked me on the cheek. I fell to the ground and he leaned over me and started punching. It reminded me of the Queens trying to hurt me. I was swinging my fists all around trying to hit him then he was knocked over by something. I didn’t know what it was. It was too fast for me to see. I looked over and saw Griffin. He ran toward me and stopped at me.
“Run.” he whispered.
“I’m not leaving you” I said.
“go.” he told me a bit louder.
“NO!” I yelled. The driver jumped out of the car a pulled out a gun. I noticed him but Griffin didn’t.
“GRIFFIN!!!” I yelled. BANG!!!!!!!! Griffin fell to the ground. They all jumped back into the car and took off leaving me and Griffin alone. It was only about 10 seconds later until another car pulled up and stopped. My dad got out of the drivers side and ran toward us. I was crying hysterically. My dad knelt down and rolled Griffin over on the ground. Griffin sat up. I sighed in relief.
“Indestructible.” he said smiling. My dad’s mouth gaped wide open.
“See daddy. I told you we were in love.” I looked at him. “he took a bullet through the heart for me.” I laughed and gave Griffin a hug.
“Will someone please tell me what’s going on?”
“Well daddy-” Griffin cut me off.
“I’m a vampire.” his mouth grew wider. Griffin opened his mouth showing my dad his fangs.
Chapter 4
It was Thursday. The first day of summer vacation! I was so excited. I was hanging out with Griffin today. My dad still hated the fact that I was dating but he was also happy for me. I was just going to his house to help decorate because their was a vampire party that night. I was excited but nervous for being around a large group of vampires.
After we got all the décor up people started coming. We had to greet the first few people there then we just started partying. Vampire parties are pretty cool. The DJ played great songs that humans listen to and even some ballroom dancing songs. I don’t know how to ballroom dance but surprisingly a lot a vampires did.
So there I was just eating some snacks and a slow song came on. Griffin came over to me and lead me out to the balcony. We were alone and there was a lot of stars out. It was perfect!
“I’ve got to ask you something.” he said.
“Yes?”
“Angie…-”
