Kelara, having heard the he-ling secret of the way to the top of the gigantic wall surrounding the crouded city of Sharilien, has spent the night at a section of the base of the mighty wall. It was a little lonely for her, because she had never been alone at night. Still, she considered, the next morining, far more free and, in her opinion, fun! Kelara stretched and packed up her supplies, after she nibbled on some of her food.

Kelara continues to walk along the wall. *I never realized it was so big!*, she notes. She travels slowly , for the wall base is very overgrown. Finally, Kelara notices a strange rectangular carving in the wall, barely there, and covered almost completely by thick green undergrowth. *Wow! I haven't seen any carvings before! Could it be?* She pulls off some of the greenery but quickly realizes that it is much thicker than it should be.*It is! It must be the way!She clears enough grass and leaes to see that the opening is shallow, and that there is a staircase to the left! Kelara feels her heart punding with excitement as she realizes this is it! She found the long unused way, possibly onto the top of the forbidding wall looming above her!

After a brief rest and a meal, Kelara begins to carefully climb the ancient stair. Seeming to hold her breath, she rose higher and higher, following her fumbling fingers in the chilled stairway. One set of stairs, two sets of stairs, three sets, a fourth set, all the way up twenty-five levels. She pants, though she felt cold, and is very glad to see the light again as she clambers up the last set of stairs. She steps onto the walltop and can hardly believe her eyes!

On one side, Kelara has a fabulous view of the bustling countryside and the mammoth city she and all her race call home. On the other, however, spead thick, wild land, what seems to be miles and miles spread out and full of animals and plantlife. *Oh, what a sight! So many animals! So much land!* And as Kelara speaks so softly, her heart fills with pure happiness and knows one thing: She has to find a way to get over the wall! Her heart yearns to explore this brand fresh new world before her. She looks back towards Sharilien. The magnificent city, home of her race, does not give her such thrills as the wild lands, lands none of her race have trod in for two hunfred years. Kelara wonders how she will get down the other side, and attempts to think of a solution as she stares at the strange lands.

Finally Kelara decides to go back down the chilly staircase. She needs to return to Sharilien so she can eat and rest. When she reaches the base the the stairs , she realizes there may be more to the entrance than she had assumed. Kelara clears out the rest of the undergrouth and realizes she was correct! There is another room and in the middle of it is a gigantic wheel, covered in cobwebs. Kelara is wise enough that she does not attempt to turn the wheel, though she is sure it couldnt turn. But, once back into the first chamber, Kelara realizes with excitement that the far wall may contain a door. *Oh, i hope it is, i hope it is!* Kelara walks to it and after looking carefully over the wall, thinks that there is indeed a door, and that it might not open, but that it just might be cracked open! She lifts up a branch, and excitedly rams it into the door, then rams it again. *Oh! Oh yes! There it goes!* She breaks through the aged door, and moves aside the peaces of the broken door out of the way, then walks through the open area until she is finally past the wall!
