‘What happened next’ Jake said excitedly, we were sitting in the middle of lounge room on the soft old shag carpet in a circle, the lounge room was painted with a pearly white paint which was peeling off. In the corner was an old wooden cabinet, on top which sat an old looking phone, the screen was cracked. There were four kids sitting on the floor, Nick, Jane, Jake and Nina, they were watching and waiting eagerly to hear what happened next in the story....
‘Ok’ I said ‘well Jasmine and Jack were walking through the forest and they had just stumbled across a shiny little rock, so Jack bent down and started to dig carefully around it. It took almost over an hour, it looked like a stone dragon.
When they got back to the little treehouse that they called home; they laid it down on the table in the corner and got out a magnifying glass out to look at it more closely. As they saw it more closely, it’s eyes were sapphires, the dragon was very detailed, it’s scales were rough as Jasmine ran her fingers over it, it had very sharp claws and it’s teeth were very sharp. Jack, however was occupied with something else; a photo in fact, it was of his mum and dad - his Mum was wearing a dragon necklace and a light blue dress his dad on the other hand was wearing a dragon ring and a black t-shirt and shorts, the only thing that they had of their parents were the dragon ring and the light blue dress. They had died a tragic death, he did not know how they had died, but all he knew was that he and Jasmine were safe as long as they didn’t stray too far from the path and at night time stayed in the tree house.
The next morning he found Jasmine looking at the dragon, which he thought was strange, then she said unexpectedly
‘Hay after looking at this dragon carefully I think it looks like a necklace, as it has a shiny silver chain attached to it. It looks familiar but I can’t tell where from.’
Jack shifted uncomfortably on the spot where he stood the he said
‘Can I look at it’?
‘Yep’ Jasmine said.
He took the photo of his Mum and Dad with him to the dragon necklace and stared at it, his sister must of got bored because she went to the garden, it was more like a big patch of dirt with trees, bushes and veggies. As Jack stared at the dragon necklace to the photo he realized that the dragon necklace was the same. He was excited and shocked all at the same time, he had to tell Jasmine some how. So he decided to wait for her in the tree house.
Jasmine came back an hour later and saw Jack and asked
‘ what’s wrong’?
‘Nothing it’s just that this dragon necklace looks like Mum’s - the one that she is wearing around her neck in the photo.’ said Jack, confused that she didn’t know this before.
Jasmine said nothing, the next morning as they ate breakfast, they had yummy tasting blueberries and raspberries with homemade yogurt. They went back into the forest to find some nuts to eat. As they walked into the forest they heard a scream and got scared, but Jasmine wanted to find out more so they went deeper into the forest.
‘What happen next’ said Jane
I had gotten distracted again.
‘What’ I said, just realizing that they were talking again ‘Is that the time, ok guys it’s time for bed, you’ve got that camp tomorrow remember, I will tell some more when you get back, well good night’.
‘Hay no we want to hear more’.
‘yeah can we hear more’?
‘I said good night…..now please go to bed’
‘but’ they all said together
They all sighed, then got up and walked off all except Nina, she had not said anything the whole time, then she spoke up
‘That was good so far, do you make it up as you go along’?
‘Yes I do, hey what do you want to do tomorrow’?
‘I want to go into the forest to go climbing’
‘Cool then thats what we’ll do’.
