A Mysterious Stranger

The dark clouds slowly drifted above the land, threatening to release a powerful thunder storm as it made its way towards the city. The city was full of life, and people ran about their own business living their usual lives and being ignorant as any other human being. A young man and a young girl walked together holding hands, the girl seemed to be full of delight and blissfulness, on the other hand, the man seemed to be bothered by something. They both walked into a coffee shop and sat on the stools embracing each other in their arms and having the best time of their life’s or so it seemed. They began to talk normal, and eventually things began to turn for the dark. Outside the rain has now been pouring harshly and the storm has now unleashed its fury. It was nearing dusk, and a man walked with a brief case and a silent expression approaching a coffee shop. His long button up trench coat flapped against his light brown boots, the detectives hat he wore tilted a little forward on his head to hide his face was the same color as his boots and coat. The man sat on a stool and ordered a cup of hot coffee and he began to drink off it slowly. As he did, the young couple that sat a few stools away from him began to ague, their conversation had turned into an argument and he couldn’t ignore it for it was loud. The young man who was obviously her boyfriend shouted, “It’s over!” and left the young girl alone. She was left weeping in sorrow. The man briefly tilted his head to look at her; she stood there with her head in between her arms crying. They were alone; there were no other people around. It seemed as though they were sucked away into the shadows. “Life is just a bowl of mixed emotions and experiences.” The girl looked up at him, she was confused. “What?” she asked. “I see you weeping in sorrow, I know the pain you suffer, but what else must you expect from this world in which we are condemned to live in.” The Mysterious Strange drank the rest of his coffee. The girl looked at him, and said, “I love him so much, but he just said to me, that he never loved Me.” said the young girl breaking into large sobs. The man knowing what was going on continued. “Life is a cruel place my dear, you either end up hurt, or end up hurting someone. Love is a punishment for all your fallen sins.” She looked up and her expression read pain, grief and sorrow. The mysterious stranger placed his brief case on the counter. “Sins?” she replied. “When you love a person so much, it eventually turns into lust, and lust is a sin.” The stranger began to open the little brief case. “We are all guilty of lust, we are all victims of love’s anguish, love is like a double edged sword, love is like a flame that burns, the scars can never be healed.” The girl was listening to his words and she seemed to be lost in twilight of words. “If love was a person, I would scar it’s pathetic little soul with no chance of remedy, and allowed it to feel the true anguish of pain.” The man opened the brief case and the girl peeked in. The man had quite a few things stored in there. On the inside of the lid, the man had stored many pieces of papers, notes and letters and a few pictures of a beautiful girl. On the right side of the case the man had a small bottle of vodka and to the upper left neatly tucked away sat a small black notebook with a nice feathery pen above it. Finally with a gasp the girl noticed a small hand gun sitting in the center area under the note book and a little bullet under the gun, one bullet. “You ask yourself, am I the only one feeling lonely, am I the only one in need of a hug. I feel lost, yet I have everything, except one thing my heart yearns the most of all, and yet, it's the thing most difficult to gain.” The man pulled out the black notebook with the pen and began to write, speaking as he wrote. “I’ve been down this winding road, a lonely road, I’ve been scared with love’s ambition, deception and despair. Even though there wasn’t no enemy among us, she kept me very near and shot me down, I looked into her eyes, and it came as no surprise she was going to shoot me down, I knew that when she smiled, it was only for a short little while, and she only shot me down.” The girl asked, “Who do you speak off?” the stranger, smiled a painful smile that hurt him, and as he spoke, tears drifted down this strangers eyes. “The person who showed me the true ways of life, the true sensation of pain, the one who I learned from and whom I knew I would never fully recover from.” The girl seemed to feel a bond to this stranger for he seemed to understand what she was going through. “I let love in, like you have, like many have, we are just a mouse trapped in a mouse trap set by the person we lust for, yet this trap does not kill but keeps us hostage.” The man placed the pen back into the brief case after ripping the paper of the notebook. "Sure, love has it's beautiful moments, amazing moments one will for ever cherish, moments you will never let go off, however, just as they come, they will go." He took out the bottle of vodka and drank it. He handed her the paper and began to walk away, leaving his briefcase opened on the counter. The girl looked at him walk away weeping silently; she looked down and read the paper. “Do not make the mistakes I did, you are young in your youth and you can be loved by a person who will never make you cry, for the one who is will never make you cry. Move on my dear, and live life for when, a door closes, a new one opens, it’s too late for my remedy, it’s too late for help for me, but not for you. Death is the permanent remedy for me.” The girl looked up at the briefcase and noticed the bottle of vodka missing and so was the small pistol and the little bullet. The Stranger, stood in the rain, weeping silently and briefly gazed up a the sky, the rain dropped and he whispered, " The heavens that have betrayed me." A few seconds after the girl realizing the missing objects, a loud bang came from outside.
