Dawn

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring. I reached over and turned it off. I got up and went to my brothers room to wake him up.

Me: "Jeremih wake up its time for school."

Jeremih: "Leave me alone Dawn, I'm tired."

Me: "No we have to get ready for school. Mom'll kill you if you the first day back."

Jeremih: "I don't care. I didn't go to bed till late last night."

Me: "You have 15 minutes. And if you don't wake up I'll dump water on you."

Jeremih: Fine now leave me alone."

Me: "Stop being rude."

He didn't reply. I walked out of his room and went back to my room. I went to my closet to get some clothes. I grabbed a black shirt and a pair of white jeans. I went to my dresser and grabbed a pair of socks and some panties. I went to the bathroom to take a shower. I stripped and stepped in the shower. I turned the water on and let the water loosen my muscles. I washed myself and got out. I dried off and got dressed. I went to my brothers room again.

Me: "Jeremih wake up

."

Jeremih: "You said 15 minutes." he mumbled

Me" "Yeah and that was 20 minutes ago."

Jeremih: "What time is it."

Me: "8:00."

Jeremih: "Oh shit were going to be late."

Me: "Correction: your

going to be late."

Jeremih: "You can't leave without me."

Me: "Says who?"

Jeremih: "Me."

Me: "Who cares what you say?"

Jeremih: "I'm in charge when moms not home and she told me to protect you from anything and everything."

Me: "Were the same age, your like two minutes older. You know what? Just get dressed. Look who‘s the boss know."

I walked out of the room before he could say anything else. I went to the kitchen to see what time it was. It is 8:34, we have six minutes until we have to be at the bus stop. And it takes five minutes to get there.

Me: “Jeremih hurry up, we have six minutes.”

Jeremih: “I’m coming.”

I heard him running down the stairs. I went to the living room and grabbed my bag. I opened the front door and walked out.

Jeremih: “Wait for me.”

Me: “Then hurry up.”

He caught up with me and we walked to the bus stop together. We got there as soon as the bus pulled up. When we got on the bus a kid yelled

“Which one is Jeremih?”

Oh, I forgot to tell you me and Jeremih are twine. But you can tell which is which, like for instance I have long hair all the way down ton my butt and Jeremih’s is like and inch long. It’s a no brainier. But some kids think its funny but whatever.

Jeremih: “Ha ha, very funny Jesse.”

Jesse: “I’m just playing with you man.”

Jesse was pretty hot if I do say so myself.

We went and sat down next to all of Jeremih’s friends.

Jeremih: “Dawn this is Jesse, Kayla, Jason, Sara, and Zeke. Guys this is my sister Dawn.”

Kayla: “Nice to meet you.”

Me: “Nice to meet you too.”

Jesse: “Hi, I’m Jesse.”

Me: “Hey it’s good to meet you.”

He smiled and I smiled back.

Jason: “Hi.”

Me: “Hi.”

When I looked over I saw that Jesse was staring at me. I looked down. We were almost to school. When we pulled into the parking lot, the bus stopped and kids started filing off the bus.

Jeremih: “What’s your first class Dawn?”

Me: “Uhhh…Science.”

Jeremih: “Man if I walk you to class I’ll be late.”

Jesse: “I can walk her. My first class is that way too.”

Jeremih: “Thanks man. I owe you.”

Jesse: “Naw it’s good. You ready?” he asked me

Me: “Sure.”

We started walking toward the D building.

Jesse: “You nervous?”

Me: “Hell yeah.”

Jesse: “There’s nothing to be nervous about you’ll make a lot of friends.”

Me: “Were you nervous on your first day?”

Jesse: “I knew everybody. I knew all the freshman, sophomores, and all the juniors. I had friends lined up on the first day of school. I had friends with me everywhere I went. So you can say I wasn’t nervous.”

Me: “All my friends are going to Tribeca Prep.”

Jesse: “Ah, the rich kid school.”

Me: “Yeah.”

Jesse: “Well then it’s a good thing your brothers here you have upperclassman as friends. And if you don’t make friends today you have backup.” he said with a smile

Me: “Thanks. How does Jeremih know all the upperclassman?”

Jesse: “I don’t really know.”

Me: “What grade are you?”

Jesse: “Sophomore. Here’s your class.”

Me: “Thanks for walking me.”

Jesse: “No problem. Bye.”

Me: “Bye.”

I walked into class and went to sit down in the middle row. I got out my books and set them on the table. The chair next to me moved and I looked up to see who is was. It was a super hot guy. But totally not my type.

Guy: “Well hello there. I’m Gus Shaw. What’s your name?”

Me: “Dawn Mathers.”

Gus: “Your Jeremih’s little sister?”

Me: “He’s like two minutes older but yeah.”

Gus: “Oh well I should have known the moment I saw you. Because you guys look alike.”

Me: “We’re twins so yeah, we do look alike.”

Gus: “Yeah I guess. What grade are you?”

Me: “9th. Aren’t you too?”

Gus: “No I’m a sophomore. That’s a damn shame. Are you in the advanced program?”

Me: “I don’t know.”

Gus: “Let me see your schedule.”

I grabbed my bag and got out my schedule. I handed it to him.

Gus: “Yeah your in advanced science, math, and English. How are your so smart but your brothers not?”

How did I know I wasn’t going to like this guy?

Me: “My brother is smart for your information.”

Gus: “Whoa calm down crouching tiger, I was just kidding.”

Me: “Sure. Why did you say me being a freshman was a damn shame?”

Gus: “Because you’re in 9th grade. 10th graders can’t date 9th graders.”

Me: “Okay. That‘s a bit shallow.”

Not that I would date him anyways.

Gus: “Well it’s true you can’t date lower classman.”

Me: “Why not?”

Gus: “The rules.”

Me: “Who’s rules?”

Gus: “I don’t know but I would never date a niner.”

Me: “They wouldn’t date you either.”

Gus: “What?”

Me: “Oh nothing. You might want to go sit down class is about to start.”

He walked away. I knew he heard what I said because the way he walked away without saying anything else to me. Well that’s what he gets for degrading freshman. We had like three minutes till class starts. Kids started piling in. A kid came and sat down next to me. I looked up and it was another hot guy. “”””””Damn this school is full of hot guys.”””””

Guy: “Hey I’m Zach. Your Dawn Mathers right?”

Me: “Yeah, I guess you know my brother.”

Zach: “Not really but I knew he has a twin and you’re the only one at this school who looks him.”

Me: “Yeah I would hope not that many people look like him. I wouldn’t know which one was my brother.”

Zach: “Ha ha. I know that would be a little creepy. But I bet a lot of guys at this school would love to look like your brother.”

Me: “Why?”

Zach: “All the girls drool over you brother.”

Me: “Oh.”

Zach: “Yeah and all the guys are going to be drooling over you.”

I blushed and looked down. I knew I was pretty but I’m not the type of girl that guys usually drool over.

Me: “I don’t think so.”

Zach: “I do. I saw Gus flirting with you. If you hang around with him you’ll have a lot of girls hating you.”

Me: “He’s not that hot.”

Zach: “Try telling that to all the girls at this school.”

Me: “I’ll probably get a lot of haters talking to you right now.”

Zach: “Uhhh…no I’m not popular so your good.”

Me: “He’s popular but your not? That doesn’t make sense.”

Zach: “His family is rich and he uses that to his benefit.”

Me: “Well I never did like snobs.”

Zach: “He’s the biggest snob here.”

Me: “Yeah he is. What grade are you in?”

Zach: “Sophomore.”

Me: “Gus said sophomores can’t date freshman. Why is that?”

Zach: “Never heard of that. But if a hot freshman asked me out I’d take it.”

Me: “Ha ha. Do you have a girlfriend.”

Zach: “No not right now. What about you?”

Me: “No I don’t have a girlfriend you weirdo.”

Zach: “Ha ha I meant do you have a boyfriend.”

Me: “Nope. And besides do you really think Jeremih would let me?”

Zach: “You have to ask his permission?”

Me: “No but if I do get a boyfriend I don’t want Jeremih to break his face. He gets mad when a guy looks at me. He’s really overprotective .”

Zach: “Oh. He looks like he can break someone’s face.”

Me: “Yeah. He’s two minutes older than me so he thinks he’s the boss.”

Zach: “Two minutes? That’s not that much.”

Me: “In Jeremih’s book two minutes is a two years.”

Zach: “Ha ha my brother is a year younger than me but he thinks he older.”

Me: “Ha ha oh wow.”

Zach: “I know. He’s so weird.”

I was about to say something but the bell rang and the teacher walked in.

Authors Note: All these things about the frogs actually happened to me in 8th grade.

Teacher: “Okay class were going to do a lab today. Today were going to dissect a frog. The people you are sitting next t are going to be your partners.”

I turned to Zach.

Zach: “Lets go our frog.”

Me: “Okay.”

We got up and went to the front of the class. Zach got the frog while I got the dissecting tools. When we got back to our table we set up the tools and the frog.

Zach: “You want to start?”

Me: “No, you can.”

Zach: “Okay.”

He grabbed the scissors and started cutting at the middle of the frog. After he was done he pinned each side of the frog stomach.

Zach: “Okay. Let mess this frog up.”

Me: “Ha ha okay. So what do I do?”

Zach: “Anything you want.”

I grabbed the pliers and lifted up a piece of the frog and it squirted me.

Me: “Yuck that’s disgusting.”

Zach: “Here.” he said handing me a towel

Me: “Thanks.”

Zack: “Welcome. I’d freak out of that thing squirted me.”

Me: “Well I didn’t want to embarrass myself by screaming. So I held it in.”
