chapter 1

The night sky was dark and calm, speckled with crystal stars. When Tasha finally made it back home after a long night of hunting, her body was sore and her throat burned as though someone had poured a bucket of acid down it. Everyday she regretted being a vampire. She made her way to her computer and checked her facebook page. Her best friend, Mariah, had posted three pictures of her and her new boy friend. Tasha rolled her eyes, she knew it was silly to feel jealousy, but she never once had someone to love. Tasha closed the page and got up. She walked up the black carpeted stairs and went into her room. She jumped on her bed not even caring about her strength snapping the wood and splintering it. Tasha laid down on the bed and shut her warm rosy eyes...

Tasha danced around in the crimson crisp leaves of fall. She felt someone grab her from behind and she found herself screaming in delight. A handsome boy with dark brown hair stood behind her, he smiled and hugged her. She felt an emotion whirling around inside of her heart, but what was it? Finally Tasha recognized it. Love. The boy kissed her on the lips softly. Tasha laughed quietly and put her cold face in his chest. Suddenly she heard a huge BOOM and the vibrations sent them flying apart. Tasha screamed and looked around frantically for the boy she loved. Finally she found him a ways away and he wasn't moving. “No!”
Tasha cried out, tears poured out of her eyes and agony wrapped around the words like a blanket. She squeezed her eyes shut and she started to claw at the earth with her hands...

Tasha's eyes flew open and she gasped. She still felt vibrations shaking through the house though. She looked at her hands and saw they were clutching the sheets. She let go carefully and got up slowly. Tasha darted down the stairs and out the door as fast as she could. When she got outside she jumped and rolled into a crouch. She scanned the premises with intense piercing golden eyes. At first there seemed to be nothing, until waves of bright colors caught attention. She turned her wide gaze to the lights and found what seemed to be the celestial alignment, but the colors were wrong. The colors were a mixture of reddish violet colors, and this was Washington so the celestial alignment never even came close to this elevation. Tasha leaped into a tall pine and started to jump along the trees. Finally she reached where it was coming from. She jumped down and waited as the lights died down, when the lights were not so bright she began to investigate. Tasha turned her gaze until she found what appeared to be a pile of feathers, but it was breathing. She crept towards the object with caution. Her senses were fully alert and curious. Tasha slowly inched closer and scanned the creature with dangerous eyes. As she stared at the creature she noticed it was male and had a human body. But were the feathers? Tasha carefully tried to move the feathery objects and she adjusted her eyes to the darkness, she nearly passed out when she found these ebony feathered things were wings and was attached to him.. he was a fallen angel.

Tasha cupped her hands around her mouth and backed away slowly. She noticed there was a fracture in his wing. She felt a strange feeling of empathy, life she needed to help him. Of course she had always been the type to take in injured animals and things like that. She carefully lifted him without waking him and levitated lightly off the ground and into the sky. The clouds were warm and pinkish from the sweet touch of the dawn, slowly the sun came into view and the stars faded away. Tasha dove down swiftly and gently and landed lightly on the roof of her home. She jumped down from the roof and carried the angel to the couch. She set him down with care and started a fire in the fireplace before getting a pillow from the linen closet. Tasha sat on the couch farthest away from him. He definitely had blood in his veins and Tasha knew she wouldn't be able to trust herself around him until she fed. But there were still even more things to worry about, like the other vampires. This area was very popular for vampire new borns who needed a place to hide. Tasha knew she was to weak to protect him. She needed to feed SOON.
