ALIVE
By: Tiara Jones

The scenery was heart wrenching. The beauty was overwhelming. I could feel the warmth in the peaceful meadow. Her tender rays caressed my skin. Love radiated through out my body. Each pulse reminds me of the blessings of life.
My bare feet embraced the brush that scattered the forest floor. I ran my fingers across the tree bark. The bark sloughed off the tree when my hands met the wood. I jumped to reach the leaves that swayed from the tree. Some leaves fluttered and fell. As they made contact with the ground it obscured the quietness of the forest. Sending tremors of sound across the land.
Inhale. Exhale. Life. Death. The taste of the flora and fauna enveloped my toungue. Waking my senses and showing rememberance of each breath I take. Taking in the sweet honey of life. Expelling any trace of amiss parts of my soul.
Each spector of light surprises my sight and awakens my senses. With every bright light there is a wide smile on my face shortly after. I love the way the sun caresses my face. It makes my face feel lovely.
And the creaures that surround me are a show to see. There eyes search to find the reason for my presense here. They must think that I am alien, as I feel towards them. But in the depths of the curiousity in thier eyes I can see satisfaction. Its visible to them that I am enjoying their enviroment, their home. So they grow quiet to let me relish this time with myself.
I can think clearly now with no inturuptions. No loud noises, meaingless drama, or horid smells. Just me and the forest to acompany me. I can take this time to talk and walk with God. Letting him teach what all this joy of the forest really means. That love exists in every form of life. And that you can find joy in these things without really acknowledging them.
But as I walk I began to pick up speed. Feeling every beat that passes through my body. I can feel the blood pulsate to saturate my skin with vivid color. My breaths are strond and deep. Not a breath untaken. Then the air envelopes me and brushes past my skin. Taunting me, reminding me, that I am in fact ALIVE.
