I looked off into the far distance and saw a tiny wooden house.
Grandma's house.
I turned around and looked down the bumpy road and saw as my parent's truck slowly pulled around the corner.
I sighed. Another boring summer at Grandma's house. Whoop-dido.
I began to cross the long bridge that Mom and Dad always drop me off at. They say that the old bridge looks too weak to hold all three of us and the truck, but perfectly in shape to hold me.
I have always been a little fascinated by this old bridge. There are carvings of initials in the wood and many other interesting things like insects and animals.
Almost no one ever crosses this bridge anymore. I have only known of three people to cross it. One is me, another is Grandma, and the last is Grandma's neighbor. A man who always keeps to himself and has never said more than two words to me. The only thing he has ever said to me was, "Move, kid!"
That was the time that I had been playing in the woods surrounding Grandma's house. The man had been hunting and I had scared away a deer that he was aiming at. I had only been seven at the time, and Grandma's house had been a fun place in my mind.
I finally finished crossing the rather long bridge. I
