Chapter 1

Catherina’s P.O.V

 

 

Catherina Dan, 17 years old. I live in France, Toulon. I’m not tall at all, 5’3, but I really want to be much taller. I have dirty blond hair and yellow eyes. People rare have yellow eyes, but if you look around you, I doubt you’ll see anybody with them, I am sure of it. My family have yellow eyes, by my father’s line. I don’t have idea why and I’m really curious about that. I’ve been looking around the internet and books, but everything I found was nothing. It’s always going to be mystery for me. I live with my parents, Alex and Kate Dan. My life is perfect. My dad, Alex, is a lawyer. He has my dirty blond hair and yellow eyes, sometimes I think I’m his twin, but in female version. He is tall, with wide shoulders and he’s strong. It’s creepy at some point. My mom is opposite of us both, dark hair and eyes, she’s a vet and she loves to go shopping, which I hate doing. She’s reaches my dad’s shoulder as height I dislike her for that and for the shopping. She likes girly stuff like dresses and stuff, it’s impossible to avoid it. I am more... sport type like my dad. I don’t like skirts and dresses, I feel… naked.

The weirdest thing is that they are go out every night. They lock me inside the house leaving me there. The thing that really surprise me, is that they used to leave me with a nanny, but in the last 2-3 years they started leaving me alone. I’m really curious what will happen if I go out of house, but I am scared to do it, because I have the feeling that something is watching me. For 3rd year in High school is little embarrassing, to be locked in your own house, since you are 17, right? Usually my friends are with me, actually my best friends. Ron and Rachel, it’s never boring with them, they always fight like little kids for nothing and their humor is big. Doesn’t matter if I had a problem or fucked up mood, they are always here for me.

At the moment it’s the late spring holiday! Such happiness, the school will end in few weeks. Right now actually, I’m at my parent’s camp. We are just few classmates. We are going to stay just for a week, I didn’t want to come, but my parents forced me, and I have no idea why. My current location is the nearest field in the woods, sitting around the camp fire, which make small cracking noises in the muggy spring night. Sitting peacefully on the huge logs and we are talking about legends. I have ‘sharp’ senses or call it however you want, and I know when somebody is watching me. At this current time, one of the forest rangers, who are here for ‘our safety’ didn’t stop watching me through the fire. It freaks me out, I’m not going to lie to you. He’s really handsome, I’m not going to lie for this either. A lot thoughts came across my mind, rapist, stalker… I wonder what the hell he is, and why he’s watching me. ‘He’s cute’, I said to myself. My breath stops when I look at him. I don’t know why, but I think we are really different in appearance... OK wait… a second... that’s not a thought, that’s a fact. He’s dark like the night, and I am bright like the day.  He’s 19 years old, from what I heard, here in the camp. He’s tall... muscular guy, black eyes and a bit long dark hair. One of his ears is full of earrings. I really like one of them. It’s moon hanging on his ear. “Emo guy” Only thing I really wanted to know is why I feel attraction? Its big attraction… or maybe it’s my imagination? But who wouldn’t be attracted or keep his sight on him? He’s hot!

 “What about wolves? Actually werewolves” said Ron. I giggle, werewolves... are you serious?

“What about them. Don’t tell me you believe in this bullshit” Rachel said from the opposite of the fire “That’s ridiculous”

“What if they are real?’’

“You should live in the reality, nothing like this exist.” I look around the rangers who look at each other and Rachel looked at them amazed.

‘’Oh my god, you believe in this. Don’t you? ‘’

“There’s nothing impossible, hun” said one of them, he had brown hair and green eyes, muscular and tall as the guy who is looking at me. I admit it again. Every single ranger sitting here has the same body. They are training hard, they look amazingly handsome and they are smart.

“I’ll come in a minute.” I said

“Where you go?” Rachel asked 

“Its 9 pm” I said looking at my watch, I turn around walking back to our bungalows at camp.

“Ron go after her” I heard Rachel

“Why don’t you go after her?”

“I can’t carry on my way back “he followed me. Those two always are so bossy, they always fight, like dog and a cat, but they are like my Angels over me. They always mess with my life.

We are walking to the dark little road. The night is beautiful. Some animals were still awake, the moon is almost full, and it shines in the sky. I could see every star shining bright into the dark space. Air the warm and muggy “its’s going to rain soon”

“After few days it’s the full moon. Just for werewolves.” Ron said.

“You really believe in this?”

“Everybody believe in something, don’t you think? They may exist, I would like to see one, but not to hurt me” he laughed

“I hope so.”

“Sup with you?”

“Oh... nothing, I have to take my medicine”

I have high blood pressure, it sucks. I had an accident at 9th grade and since then I have high or low blood pressure and epilepsy. I don’t know where I’ll fall, without even noticing.

After few minutes the bungalows, showed up and we went in ours. The distance between beds is around 1 meter, each had a nightstand. Our luggage is in front of our beds. The floor and the walls are in warm brown color. Against the front door is the bathroom. Toilet, a shower, and large countertop with sink and large mirror. On the countertop, well you don’t want to know what was placed there, a lot of make-up things, shampoos, cream for face and body, even Ron’s things were staying here. Even condoms, but I don’t why they are here, since nobody of us has a boyfriend or girlfriend.

I went to my night stand and took the pills.

“I’m going to bathroom.” Ron said

“Mhm...’’

I lay on my bed, which is on the most right side of the room. I feel dizzy and I feel like ill fall into pieces. I close my eyes. Silence. I doubt anybody want anything more from the silence. I prefer it, it makes me calm and I can make up my mind if I have a problem or I’m just annoyed. I was lying on my bed, when I heard small heavy breathing. “Where I comes from, ugh maybe Ron makes jokes again”, but it didn’t stop. I stood up from my bed, I opened the front door. Empty.

“Okay let’s go”

“Yeah...”

I look again around, but there was absolutely nothing, like it disappeared. We start walking on the road again, but I still had the feel that something is watching us and following us. I’m always getting nervous when somebody is watching me. Well… sometimes I really have big imagination. Like something like jump out of the bushes, attack us, and kill us and eat us.

“Don’t you have the feel somebody is following you, Ron?”

“Nope” he said and giving me his hoodie, I wore it. I put my hands the pockets and keep walking. I admit it the hoodies looks awesome on girls… well at least the male hoodies. I felt his perfume I gave him for his birthday.

I’m walking and I keep hear heavy steps and breathing near us.

“Ron.. I don’t feel good” I said, my head was spinning awful, and after few seconds I fell on the ground

“Cath? Catherina! Oh my god what are going to do with this girl, really..’’

He picks me up and kept walking to the field.

 

 

Unknown person’s P.O.V

 

“Why they are so slow” Rachel said “They met a werewolf?”

Everybody laughs on topic werewolves, but the rangers. They look at each other again. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the werewolves exist. From many, many years. All rangers in the camp are werewolves. Our Cath, her name, will be one of them soon too. Tomorrow is her birthday, she will make 18, and after 3 days is the full moon, which means on this day will be her first transformation, she obviously is going to be tied up for Styles.

Who ask who this lucky guy is? That’s our Emo boy, as Catherina called him in her mind. He lives here from long time. He knows she will be his mate. Even if she doesn’t want to, that’s how it is. Her parents didn’t tell her about what she is… poor girl...

They thought it’s better for her, hahaha. Her father, the Alpha, is not… very liked person, you know, from other packs. That was way easier, Catherina to stay ‘blind’ for this situation and to live her life. It’s not one of best ideas ever you could do or see, but for the past, that was the best solution for the problem. Alex and Kate let Styles to take care of her. Because they knew they are going to be mates.

“Hey Styles” Rachel said “Do you think werewolves exist?”

Styles looks her with annoyance “How Cath can be friend with her”, he used too much rudeness in his words, so let’s don’t expose it ok?

“What about camping in the woods?” His head was going to explode because of her and her talking nonsense. He pulled out his lollipop from his mouth

“Do I look like retarded person to you?” he said rude. “No, we won’t”

“So annoying” She hadn’t stopped to flirting with him, touching him and push herself into him since they were here. He felt disgusted by her.

Ron and Cath came from the woods, Ron was carrying Cath in bride style. He knows what happened there in the woods, like every ranger here.

“What happened?”

“How you can see she fainted again. She was like ‘Somebody is following us’ and poof, she fell on ground unconscious” Rachel laughed and Styles looked at her… he was near to kill her “She has a problem, and this idiot decide to laugh? Are you fucking serious right now?”

“Like? Did she said what’s following you?” Styles asked

“No” Ron answered and laid her next to him.

“Sup with her?”

“Epilepsy and few more problems.”

Styles knew she’s awake because of her heartbeat. He bended over and looked her, she opened her in the eyes and kept the eye contact.

“You ok?”

“Y-yes” she said and sat between him and Rachel “Disturbance ... sweet” he said in his mind. Cath looked behind him, he was sure, she hears her father’s breathing and steps

“Well tomorrow is your 18th birthday!” said Rachel

“Yes know, I’m not in mood for this”

“Why not” Styles rolled his eyes and looked Rayon, he winked at him and smirked

“Gay” he murmured

“I heard that!”

Rayon is the youngest from their group with 3 years. His hair is bright brown and green eyes, were like magic. Whoever he looked made them fall for him. He wasn’t that muscular like rest of them, but it was noticeable. His hormones were still there which is normal, but they are double now, after they made his tattoo.

Wolves are strange creatures, however you look at it. They recognize themselves by the scent, not by the fur or the eyes,
