Come out and play
Whispered the voice
Of yesterdays gone by

A voice of innocence
A voice of adventure
The voice of youth

It was the voice
That kept me company
In the darkest of hours

It was the voice
That sang me to sleep
When tears began to shower

The voice that helped
Me to survive to this place
We call today

He doesn’t recognize
The effects that years
Have taken on my body

He only knows
To keep his head up
And keep walking

For every day is a trial
Of strength and endurance
In a world that doesn’t understand

This shell is not me
I am hidden deep within
The walls of this physicality

To a space where only
Angels speak as little boys
That refuse to grow up

Because they know
That Souls have no age
And Spirits never die.
