PrologueThe moon slowly rose above the horizon, and the trees cast dark shadows over the ground. A black and white she-cat slipped into place just above a hill. Paw steps echoed behind her, and the she-cat glanced back. A russet colored tom shouldered beside her, looking down. He drew his lips back.
"ThunderClan and WindClan arent there." He growled, his eyes mere slits.
"They will get here, Fishdapple." The she-cat meowed, authority heavy in her voice. "Lets go." She pelted down the slope. Her Clan followed behind her. As they mingled with the only other Clan, ShadowClan, the she-cat jumped onto a rock, dipping her head to the other leader.
"Hello, Slystar," The she-cat meowed. "how is ShadowClan?"
"Prey is well, Marshstar," Slystar meowed, though her voice was curiously guarded. "and Riverclan?"
"StarClan is good to us." Marshstar replied. She sat, wrapping her black and white tail around her paws, her fur swishing into place neatly. A yowl sounded above the slope, and Marshstar looked up. "ThunderClan are here," She meowed, her eyes narrowing. Sure enough, a white tom leaped onto the rock, his light green eyes glowing, reflecting the rising moon. "Hello, Marshstar, Slystar," He meowed.
Marshstar nodded, though her amber eyes were narrowed. "Jaggedstar," She meowed coldly, her eyes glittering.
Jaggedstars eyes glittered right back, and he turned his head as a yowl echoed through the trees. "Swiftstar is here." He reported as he stood, tail up in a greeting. Swiftstar leaped onto the rock, his white and gray dappled coat familiar to Marshstar as he padded to them.
"Let the gathering begin!" Marshstar yowled, silenting the talk of RiverClan, ThunderClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan. She paced to the front of the rock. "Prey is well in RiverClan, and our queen, Wrenflight, has had two kits, Mistykit and Bluekit!" She yowled. The Clans murmured happily, tails waving, but RiverClan looked proudly at eachother.
Jaggedstar swished his tail and stepped forward. "Prey is low since Leaf-Bare, but hopefully New-Leaf will bring more prey," He meowed. "And we have a new deputy, Rillheart." He meowed, then cleared his throat. "Also, some of my warriors chased a fox out of our territory. It appears to be headed towards WindClan. My apology, Swiftstar." He added.
Swiftstar looked at the leader. "We thank you for sharing this news, but we dont thank you for sending a fox to us." His eyes glittered with humor, and Jaggedstar let out a purr of laughter. "Prey is well in WindClan." He added to the Clans below. "However, badgers have made a home in our territory, and we hope to drive them out soon." He meowed.
Finally, Slystar, who had waited patiently, stepped forward, her eyes calm. "Prey is well in ShadowClan, as New-Leaf has arrived at last." She meowed. "However, we have seen more kittypets around now that the weather warmed up, and they cant seem to get the hint that they should stay in there own gardens." She meowed, unsheathing her claws.
"Yes," Jaggedstar agreed. "They snuggle in they're cozy nests at Leaf-Bare, and at New-Leaf they forget the forest is ours."
Marshstar nodded, then jumped down from the rock, her eyes glowing. "Farewell, Jaggedstar, Slystar, Swiftstar. We shall meet again soon." She nodded farewell before signaling to her Clan to follow. As the Clans headed they're seperate ways, Marshstar began to run to her own camp, the wind whipping her whiskers to her face, and her Clan running behind her.
Chapter 1.Mistykit felt a small paw poke her, and peeked her eyes open. Bluekit was standing over her. Heaving a large sigh, the gray she-kit pushed her sister away, closing her eyes.
A paw poked her again.
"Stop it, Bluekit!" Mistykit whined, blinking her eyes open.
"I wanna play!" Her sister meowed, her large amber eyes pleading.
Mistykit sighed again. It had been a whole moon since she had been born. She had met nearly every cat in RiverClan, even her father. She had gotten in trouble for putting a beetle in Firekit's nest at night, her way of expressing she had feelings for the russet tom, but instead she had to sit in her nest that day. Now Mistykit pushed herself to her paws and sat up. "Okay, Bluekit," She meowed, "What do you want to play?" Its wasnt that she hated playing with Bluekit, she was just in the middle of a nap.
"Mossball?" Bluekit suggested.
Mistykit perked up at that idea, her eyes gleaming. "Okay!" She agreed. She scampered over to a mossball and tossed it to Bluekit. Bluekit caught it and threw it. Mistykit crouched, her eyes fixed on the moss ball. She leaped, grabbing it in her claws and tossing it back.
"Yay!" Bluekit squealed, leaping to catch it, but it sailed right over her head and bonked Wrenflight in the head. Wrenflight stirred, blinking open her eyes in surprise.
Mistykit backed away, stifling a mrrow of amusement as her mother sat up.
"Okay," Wrenflight meowed, her eyes gleaming with laughter. "who threw that?"
"Me!" Mistykit purred, rolling onto her back and grabbing her mothers front paw.
"Okay, little one." Wrenflight smiled. "Would you guys like to go out of the nursery and get some fresh air?"
"Yes!" Bluekit meowed, heaidng for the entrance.
"Wait
