/> “ What?” I asked.
“ I just love when you say that you love me,” He whispered. I smiled, and got on my tip toes, and gave him a gentle kiss, and he gave me one back, and I wrapped my arms around him, and let out a sigh.
“ How come everything seems so perfect when it’s not?” I laughed.
“ How about today will be perfect, and all the other days could be a total mess?” he chuckled. I nodded my head and smiled. I felt Patch tense up next to me, and I looked up at him confused. You alright? “ Its ugh… Well there are other dogs around and dogs hate me,” he laughed. I let out a laugh.
“ is that a wolf thing?” I asked. He nodded his head chuckling.
“ Yeah it’s a wolf thing,” he smirked. I let out a laugh. “ Come on lets go find the other guys,” he smiled. I nodded my head, and we started to walk up the hill, and I felt a little tired, so I closed my eyes, and imagined wind pulling me up the hill, and I felt something pushing me forward. I ran up the hill with the wind pushing me, and I stood at the table, and Patch stopped and was looking at me. “ Is that a Aether thing?” he asked. I brought my hand up and lightly extended it towards him, and a light brush of wind pushed him and he laughed. “ You’re gonna get it,” he smirked. I raised my eyebrows, and he darted after me. my eyes widened and I turned on my heel, and started to run through the trees. I continued to run, and then I saw something black run past me, and I stopped and looked around. I heard a bark, and I turned around and saw a wolf a couple of feet away from me. I took a step back, and then I met the wolves eyes, and I stopped.
“ Patch?” I mumbled. The wolf took another step closer to me, and then I heard the guys farther up the hill, and I looked up and saw patch chasing after Joanna. My body froze, and I looked at the wolf. This wasn’t any regular wolf. Those eyes… they looked like Patch’s and those guys I saw at the museum. I guess werewolves all have those same dark brown eyes. The wolf let out a deep growl, and I felt my body freeze. “ P- Patch,” I tried saying a little louder, but I felt my voice cracking. Then the wolves stopped, and then it ran away. I let out a breath I was holding, and looked around, and started to run up the hill. I ran into someone and stumbled back, and saw Joanna grinning at me.
“ What’s up?” He asked.
“ U- Ugh nothing,” I mumbled walking past him. I walked over, and I saw Patch standing apart from the others dazing off, and I stood there looking at him. “ Patch?” I whispered. his eyes met mine, and he smiled but it was a fake smile, and it looked troubled. “ Hey, you alright?” I asked touching his arm. At first he flinched, but then he relaxed and nodded his head. I looked up at him, and he looked down at me, and gave me a weak smile, and kissed my forehead. I wrapped my arms around Patch and took a deep breath. “ When do you think it’s going to be over?” I asked him.
“ Hopefully soon,” he responded. We all started to walk back to the hotel, but my mind was somewhere else. I was remembering those wolves, and they were not animal wolves. They were the same thing that Patch is. I walked next to Patch, and he had his arm around me. We walked up to the hotel, and we all went into my room to see how Dan is feeling. I opened the door, and stepped in first. By the time we got back to the hotel it was dark out, and all the lights were out in the room.
“ Dan?” I asked stepping inside. when my whole body got through the door I felt someone grab me from the side. I let out a scream, and I heard chuckling. Patch switched on the lights, and I came face to face with Dan. “ I hate you,” I growled pulling his arms off of me. he was laughing, and I glared at him. “ I suppose you feel better?” I asked. He nodded his head, and I gave him a weak smile, and then hit his arm. “ Well you almost scared the crap out of me!” I hissed. He let out a laugh, and grinned. “ So can you see where they are…?” I stopped and closed my eyes for a minute. “ Hey Dan?” I whispered. he looked up at me curiously. “ When we get to these people how much longer are we going to have to hide?” I asked.
“ I wish I could tell you Lilz,” he sighed. I nodded my head, and he closed his eyes and went into his form. I was still amazed by this. I sat on the bed, and gazed at Dan in cat form. I reached out and pet his head, and I heard him purr and I let out a chuckle. He then backed up on his paws, and mist started to appear. “ They… They are not too far from here actually… We have to travel about… twenty miles, and they are living at this empty mansion in the woods. Its secluded, but we should be able to find it,” I heard Dan say. I nodded my head. Dan went back to his normal form, and he took a deep breath, and laid down on his bed. “ When should we leave?” He asked.
“ Tonight,” Patch said quickly.
“ Shouldn’t we sleep and leave in the morning?” River asked.
“ I agree with River,” I said. I looked over at Patch and he took a deep breath and shook his head.
“ We should leave tonight,” He said.
“ Why?” River asked. Patch locked gazes with River.
“ Patch why do you want to leave tonight so badly?” I asked. “ All of us where at the woods today. We are tired we should sleep here for the night, and leave tomorrow, so we won’t get tired on our walk to the guys,” I said. Patch gave me an exhausted look, and he rubbed his temples, and nodded his head.
“ Alright,” he grumbled. I gave him a smile, and he gave me a quick one in return but it also quickly faded. Johnny, Dan, and River went back into their rooms, and me, Joanna, patch, and Markus stayed in ours. Joanna quickly passed out in his bed, and looking at him brought a laugh out of my mouth. He looked funny. Patch went into the bathroom to take a shower, and Markus was laying on the pull out couch, and he looked lost in his own little word. I sat up from my bed, and walked over towards Markus, and sat down at the end of the couch, and gave him a smile.
“ Hey,” I muttered.
“ Hi,” He responded still not looking at me. I sat there, and I took a deep breath.
“ how long did you know my dad?”
“ About three years,” He said. I was shocked by long he actually knew my dad.
“ I never met you, or heard about you before.”
“ I know. your dad didn’t want to mix family with work. Actually he never even told his work he had kids. Well blood kids. He said he just adopted.” I felt my heart ache, and Markus must of seen my face, because he grabbed my hand. “ He didn’t mean it like that. If his work knew he had blood kids they would of killed them.”
“ How come you knew then?” I whispered.
“ I found out by mistake actually,” He said.
“ how?”
“ I was sent out to go look for your father, and while I was searching I found him at the beach with the kids and your mom. I continued to watch all you, and then I saw you fall and cut your leg open, and the weather changed… and the thunder started to turn black, and I knew you were his blood, but Lallie isn’t…” He said. My head shot up.
“ Lallie is not my dad’s daughter?” I asked.
“ Not by blood. He thought that if he had a blood child their powers wouldn’t be as strong, but when they had you, your powers are actually stronger than your dad’s and when your mother wanted a second child your father didn’t want another child with stronger powers, because it would have been too risky, so they adopted,” He said. I let out a deep breath. This changes nothing. Lallie is still my little sister by blood or not, and my father always loved us the same.
“ I miss him,” I whispered.
“ Mika was a good man… he cared about his family so much. He would risk his life for you any day. He didn’t regret what he did,” Markus said. I nodded my head and felt a tear fall down my face. I put my face into my hands and sighed.
“ Im so weak,” I cried. Markus grabbed my hand and had me look at him.
“ To be able to cry in front of others and show your feelings is strong,” He whispered. i bit my lip, and pulled my hands away wiping my face, and took a deep breath and walked back over to my bed, and laid down, and wrapped the blankets around me. I felt the bed going down, and I turned around and saw Patch laying their looking at the ceiling.
“ Patch,” I whispered. he turned his head to look at me, and I could tell there was something wrong. “ Patch why did you want to leave tonight and not in the morning?” I asked in a whisper.
“ Reasons.”
“ Why?”
“ Because.”
“ Patch tell me,” I said placing my hand on his arm.
“ You know me I just like to get things done,” he said smiling, and obviously lying. I nodded my head, and brought myself closer into his chest, and took a deep breath. I knew he was lying, but he didn’t know I knew. I could tell when he lies, because he gives you the fakest smile, and the look in his eyes are full with guilt and sorrow. Why did he want to leave tonight so badly? I wonder if it was about those wolves in the woods…
